The new AI Helicopters

Recommended Posts

The new AI helicopters are rather exciting. They take off in a minimum length of runway, they move beautifully at around 80 knots, and come in for a nice short landing. Have a look at these shots where I have added the default Bell 206B Jet Ranger into my GA flightplans using the specially created and amended air and config files.Holger Sandmann and a team of assistants have created a wonderful new aspect of AI flying. It is exceptionally well documented, with a tremendous amount of thought and energy being given to AI helipcopters. Try Helicopters 101 if nothing else (uses the default Bell 206B). Go over to Hovercontrol (a great site) and follow this link. There are no autoloaders. If you know how to manually add a new texture then you will be able to make this work for you.www.hovercontrol.com, under Message Forums > Support Area > Helicopter AIIt is framerate friendly and opens up a completely new aspect of AI flying. Cool pics bro!!!I have had AI choppers for awhile and have had the privilege to pre-test out Holgers files as well. His stuff totally enhanced what I had going. He did a fantastic job with this!!Maybe we'll start seeing more screenshots of AI helis as opposed to all the heavy repaints in the screenshot forum now!!!! (one can only hope!);-)Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

Yeah, this is fun. It's a new area with a number of different things to think about. The screenshot of a parade of helicopters reminds me of Mickey's brooms in The Sorcerer's Apprentice, but that's not really what I'm seeing. I installed the New York Central Park stuff first (because I was born in Brooklyn) and it's really neat. Next, I started working on the Coast Guard stations of New York and New England, but that's a bit more work because I've got to create airports and my own flightplans. After that, it's some traffic choppers for Boston and vicinity...

Howdy:... and then there's more types of choppers to include...I just uploaded the remaining four Starter Kits to hovercontrol and simviation, and also the entire set of seven kits to the AVSIM library; should be available later today or tomorrow. The seven kits bring the total to 27 different chopper models and 40 locations; should be enough to keep people busy for awhile ;-)That's it from my side - please make your own heliports and flightplans available to others and announce these and other contributions in the AI Helicopters forum at hovercontrol.com. That's also where I will post patches, if required.Good luck with downloading and installation :-roll Cheers, HolgerP.S.: all choopers in the screenshots are AI aircraft!http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14587.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14588.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14589.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14590.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/14591.jpg
