August 10, 200916 yr Yup, I read about that Q400 with great interest, because much of the ground aspect of FS leaves a lot to be desired, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with.TSR Autobrake goes some way toward correcting or improving that 'stop on a dime' tendencies of FS upon landing, but even so, you can cheerfully drive an airliner down the runway at 250 miles per hour and not have a blow out, which is something I'm sure many airlines wish was true.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 10, 200916 yr I'll make the case that a wider Field of View will give the greatest bang for the buck when it comes to improving FS flying and LANDING skills. Normal single monitor simming produces only a 45

August 13, 200916 yr How much can realistically be expected from a $50 simulator and even an $80 or $90 simulated plane. I've not seen anything that even approached real world planes, particularly the Mooney. Procedures and responses in a technical sense, but not the feel. I think that ,for the price, Flight Simulator does a great job.

August 15, 200916 yr I owned a C172 and a Bellanca Super Viking. The 172s high wing didn't give me any GE problems and the viking was too heavy to cause any problems. I have also flown some of the PA28 series. No real problems there either. THe most important thing missing from Flite sims is "seat of the pants" input. I don't think anyone has the wherewithall to buy an expensive "flying chair" that reacts to force feedback. Well, anyway, It's only a game. Lots of practice and fiddling around will get you comfortable with the sim.Cheers, Paul.
