September 6, 200916 yr Well, of course, a two year old has to be taught. But any teen knows it's wrong to steel from a store. The disconnect comes from teens not realizing that the world is bigger than just them. They tend to care more about themselves than others. They don't realize that their actions affect those around them. A teen might say "I can drive fast if I want , It's just me in the car". But if they are killed in a crash, it surely is bad for their families and whoever they hit. Just recently some teens where shown graphic films of car accidents caused by the driver texting while driving. Some said they would stop texting and driving. Others said they would probably continue. They know it is wrong to text and drive, but do it anyway. BobIf someone knows something is wrong but still does it, do they really know it's wrong? September 6, 200916 yr And who among us has never done anything wrong? Never gone over the speed limit. Never pushed a red light. Never called someone a name, or thought ill of them. I think kids steal because their desires are stronger than fear of consequence. Not because they don't know it's wrong. Is driving over the speed limit as bad as stealing? It's worse if someone dies in an accident from it.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

We all "know" it's illegal to break the speed limit but when we do it's because we think it doesn't apply to us in the particular cirmstances Gerry Howard
September 6, 200916 yr Moderator Second of all, and most importantly, most people don't even realize these exist when they get stuff like this. Because of the lack of marketing to a broader audience, things like this happen. On this point alone, I agree. I've long argued that the very opacity of the FS addon market is the single largest contributor to higher prices......however, it's a classic case of Catch-22, as no one in this cottage industry can afford the cost of serious advertising.Simmer's as a whole would be astonished at just how few sales are actually made for aircraft on average. I mean we're talking about less than four digit numbers here! :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I mean we're talking about less than four digit numbers here! :(Not me.A viewpoint from my little corner of the globe.Of the half dozen or so people that I know personally that have FS in any form, I am the only one with an addon of any type. I am the only one who has ever flown online, the only one who visits forums.I suspect my little slice of the world is an accurate barometer of the FS world as a whole.Or maybe not, who knows?regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

Go for trying to get MS to put FSX on steam, meanwhile pressure them to put it so you can activate your cd key there too. After that, start putting the addon stuff there too, that way, much more coverage. The fact is, not many people KNOW about these addons, and as such, they don't buy them. September 6, 200916 yr I had never heard of Steam ( 'cause I'm not an avid gamer) untill a few months ago. I bought a cheap racecar game for my daughter and I. Steam was so restrictive that I ended up removeng ( and chucking) the game. Not interested in playing online. mgh.I know driving over the speed limit is wrong. I belive it. I know the concequence. I know it applies to me. Still I do it.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
September 6, 200916 yr Go for trying to get MS to put FSX on steamgood luck with thatmeanwhile pressure them to put it so you can activate your cd key there too.I actually did LOL when I read that, pressure MS into any thing, LOLNo offense Peter, and I think your comments were tongue-in-cheek.But I get a kick out of reading comments from simmers that think FS was anything more than a hobby for MS.I saw one poster claiming FS was the "cornerstone" for MS. Had me :( Don't want to upset anyone here, just voicing my opinion.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

I've had a driver's licence for 62 years- never had a ticket nor accident. Cruise Control works well in both cars and airplanes!Alex Reid

I was hoping someone would pick up on that :(In reality, I think that the best option would be to do something similar to steam if Aerosoft comes out with a sim... The idea is to create sort of a digital distribution service that ALL flight sim addon makers can use to get the word out there, that comes bundled with aerosofts new sim. Better idea would still be to just put a new sim on steam, however still, there needs to be a method of getting the word out there without all the issues of the niche market even knowing.Don't feel badly, Bob- I hadn't heard of Steam either until this thread! Cruise Control works well in both cars and airplanes!Alex Reidsteam is essentially the mainstream gaming digital distribution service... They have really improved a lot since way back when, however they do still get major issues when a major title launches, and I do feel that using steam would be the best option if possible because then you can reach just about every hardcore pc gamer out there. September 9, 200916 yr This may be the silliest stuff I have ever read. Thanks so much for wanting my kids to spend time in jail. Maybe you can bail your kids out, I can not. Kids doing what their parents say not to is nothing new. This kind of blanket statement about the cause of stealing is just...odd. I want better for my kids than I had. What's wrong with that? I have known rich parents with problem children. They did let their child spend time in jail. Did not help. Kids know right from wrong. They decide to ignore it. There's more to the problem than "It's the parents fault".BobIs it really? You cannot sit there and tell me you have not watched the evening news and not seen parents say that it just not could be their kids who commited a crime be it putting a VW up on top of the school Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
