It really depends you know.If you can find a picture of what the pilot looked like when he got off the plane then you would know...Maybe some sweptback looking hair or some blast burns on the face...Items in the cockpit like paper strewn about..HeheheNo I think its because theres a metal frame you can see in the window that is making you think that thats the window frame itself that has been slide over..Its probably the metal structure of the cockpit itself.Cheers

OK, I'll take the other side. I think the front left window on the pilot's side is indeed open a bit. The jet is about to land, so perhaps the pilot decided that it wouldn't be a big deal. But I do like the response that refers to the post landing picture of the pilot and his/her hair. :) :)Regards,Dave Vega

Window is closed...Boeing windows look very distinctive in the open position. They sink in and roll back, and rarely do they go ALL the way back. You can almost always see the frame just forward of that aft post. Definitely closed windows here. Unless there is some kind of emergency its just not done.Hornit

He's landing on a carrier and the window is open to provide quick egress if he ends up in the ocean. If this was a wide-angle picture, you'd see the 737's tailhook. R-EDIT -- Oops, I looked at the picture again and this guy has forgotten to deploy his tailhook! Its a good thing he's got his window open. R-

Hi,Naw, it ain't open. It just looks that way because you can see the inside of the window frame.Interstingly enough, the A320 manual says the window must be closed above 200 KIAS. So I suppose 180 KIAS is ok :) But since the Boeings are made of metal instead of plastic, they could probably handle 300 KIAS :) Kidding!CFAOA
