Project Fokker F70/100 Issues

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been having issues after installing the Project Fokker F70/100 that I've never had before during previous installations and a search of a couple of forums haven't provided a solution to my problem. When I run the aircraft in the sim without any modifications, the simulator has no sound whatsoever (yes, I did check to make sure FS2004's sounds were enabled) until I switch to a different aircraft. With the gauge update listed on their site installed, all sounds disappear when I open up the overhead panel. I'm using FSUIPC 3.9.3.0 and FSSound 1.6.0.15. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- What (filenames) did you install exactly, and in what order ?- What isn't clear: do the sound NEVER work, or only stop working after you open the overhead panel when the aircraft is loaded ??Rob

This is going to sound too basic, but check it out. I have had sound config files literally disappear. Check that and be sure the sound files are where they are pointed to.

I installed PF10070v2.zip first, and running that alone, the entire sim is silent until I switch to a different aircraft. Then after installing rcbpf-30.zip, I have sounds going until I open the overhead panel, then the sim goes mute again and I've got to switch to a different aircraft to bring sounds back. All files are there, I didn't have any disappear. After hours of narrowing down gauges, everything works fine after getting rid of the following:Main Panel-gauge22=PF10070_WCGPWS, 310,327,12,11 Overhead-gauge38=He_apugen1, 221,344,20,33gauge39=He_apugen2, 254,344,20,33gauge40=He_ENG_WARN.1, 176,103,21,21gauge41=He_ENG_WARN.2, 363,103,21,21gauge42=He_Aircond, 536,243,19,47gauge43=He_Aircond, 533,276,19,47gauge44=He_Aircond, 641,249,19,47gauge45=He_Aircond, 638,279,19,47gauge46=He_apugen1, 288,381,20,33gauge47=He_apugen1, 190,380,20,33gauge48=He_apugen1, 256,381,20,33gauge49=He_apugen1, 223,381,20,33gauge50=He_apugen1, 236,313,20,33gauge63=dfd_gpws!below, 20,127,23,22gauge64=dfd_gpws!fi, 23,151,23,23gauge65=dfd_gpws!inop, 55,127,23,22gauge66=dfd_gpws!fi, 57,149,23,23gauge67=737.WCgpws, 106,151,23,19 gauge68=XMLSound!XML-Sound, 418,428,6,6After getting rid of those, everything works fine, but then I'm missing some gauges, which is alright, I'm just curious why these gauges are a problem and if there is a way to fix them so I can restore them.

Since this problem appearantly is already related to the original PF10070v2.zip:I don't have a clue what might cause this problem; other then (for whatever reason) that your sound card / onboard sound device doesn't like the particular format of the .wav files used. I must also admit, that in all the years supporting both the standard version of the aircraft, or my addon, I never heard of such a problem before. - Which Windows version are you using ?- Are you using on-board sound or a soundcard ? (it might even be as simple as a crummy sound driver)- Have you tried the Windows diagnostics function ? (DXDIAG). Also, try different options for your sound driver, like change sound accelleration or not.Just wild guesses, but I'm 99.99 % sure this problem is somehow related to your Windows version / Sound device.Sorry I can't be of more help.Rob

I recently got a new computer, running Vista Home Premium 32-bit right now. My sound is onboard with it's latest drivers, works better than anything else I've had before.

I have Vista Premium 64. Reality XP guages will not work unless they have found a patch. I've had trouble with other guages now and then.

It sure effective. Thanks deltafan. Now I can fly with it without any hassle. Good Luck.
