September 27, 200916 yr I agree, go Eaglesoft. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would WANT a 2d panel? Even in fs2004 I only used the VC. There is no realism with the 2d panels as you can't see the cockpit. Developers don't get my money if their VC isn't clickable and real world functional. I guess there are reasons why people want and need a 2d panel but I have yet to ever run into them.Nice to meet you also, JOnx............Bottom line for me: don't care about VC, one way or the other....have tried it, don't like it, no 2D, won't buy it. Plain and simple. No objection to both, but no 2D is a deal breaker.
September 27, 200916 yr This is where developers should pick up on the block system that Captain Sim used for the original 757. Of course, Captain Sim did it wrong - the released an unfinished aircraft to begin with and ended up with a finished one by the end. If they could keep the cost down for the base aircraft, I would rather have developers release things like the 2d panels (provided the vc is fully functional), or a simplified systems panel (like I want) as addons to the base package. If PMDG did a modified panel for their aircraft, I would buy their packages. Of course, I realize that the main problem with this approach is that the developer will release the base package first to start making money. If the base packages doesn't contain the key parts of the package, everyone will be skeptical about their plans to release the add on package. They will loose credibility when the wait time for the add ons increases. In addition, focusing on addons for previous packages will slow the development of future projects. In the end, no system is perfect. Nonetheless, I wish developers would release reasonably priced add ons to their packages for those that have special preferences. The one size fits all approach doesn't work for me and it doesn't work for others.
