I know you pointed that out earlier and I wasn't taking issue with your comment.I was disputing Mark's suggestion that somehow there was a difference between a "display software update" and "a driver update."I carefully examined the Windows Update page and I could find no mention of what he suggested earlier. All I saw was the "display software update."

Hi Stiff, just for the hell of it I ran Windows update :), and listed on the 'Driver Updates' page was this:>NVIDIA Corporation multimedia software update released on May 12 2003.*http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

So based on your hardware configuration, you're likely to see differing options. :-)There's got to be a better way.

Hi fellasWindows Update tailors itself for your own computer, does it not, so this thread is a bit academic. When I went there yesterday to update my new hard drive from scratch, I downloaded 36 critical updates, 12 Windows XP updates, six driver updates, etc. However, the ones from Nvidia were the display software update - "Nvidia Media Center" - and a driver update: the one it suggested for me was 29.42! I actually run 30.82s for two reasons; one, I run a pair of GeForce2s so don't really need more and, two, the combination of 30.82 main and stereo drivers is the most reliable I've found for my 3D. And I've tried the lot! Horses for courses, though.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Stiff, I noticed its called an "international driver", maybe the size difference is that nvidia includes folders for differing language's for the O/S, and like is said the microsoft update scans for your particular computer config.
