Spoilers randomly raising / Aircraft randomly reverting back to loaded state

Featured Replies

Hi all,Its been a while since I've had an FS9 problem that I've not been able to figure out on my own, but this one has got me stumped. Starting today, my aircraft seem to randomly revert to the state that they were in on first load. Things like switches, buttons, dials, and knobs will just revert about every 5min - 2hrs to their original loaded positions, though the plane, engines, navigation data, and almost everything else critical to staying in the air don't seem to be affected. I said almost because the spoilers also seem to activate randomly, though this happens much less often (1-2 times per flight). I've made absolutely no changes to FS9 since the last time I flew 2 days ago, and the most recent change I've made to my computer was upgrading my video driver 2 weeks ago.I'm concerned that my FS9 install is about to take a dive and force me to uninstall and reinstall (something that takes weeks because of lack of free time). I'm also concerned that this may be a result of the video driver, but I wouldn't think that the video driver would affect the controls, buttons, and settings of an aircraft (3 different aircraft actually) like that. The third option, of course, is something like a virus, but I do weekly, Tuesday scans of my computer and nothing was found on this last one.If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing the problem, please let me know, as I really don't want to have to reinstall the game again, but will if I can't find a better solution soon. Part of the problem is that I often let aircraft fly while I'm doing homework on my computer, and if I can't trust them to stay on course and in control, I'll end up wasting time and effort if they start falling out of the sky because they stall from spoilers at 36k feet, or some other stupid thing like that. Please help,Greg

I would check control assignments. Sometimes Flight Sim seems to either delete or randomly add assignments. Highlite each device one at a time under Joystick type and check for wayward assignments under both Buttons/Keys and Joystick Axes sections.Bud

I'll have to take a look at that. FS9 did have some sort of weird hiccup a few months ago that forced me to repair a lot of the registry for the game, this might have had some sort of delayed side effect.
