Airbus and ETOPS

Hi all,Would or is possible for an airbus A3xx series to cross the pond from the uk to america. Do any carriers use an airbus A319, A320, or A321 to fly from the uk or europe to the USA. Is the airbus A3xx range even ETOPS cleared for such a long journey..Thanks Jason

I know that DaimlerChrysler flies a corporate version of the Airbus A319(-CJ Corporate Jet I think) at least once a week from Stuttgart, Germany into Detroit, MI nonstop.Greetings,

ETOPS for the a320 & a321 is 3 hours. Not sure about the a319. The US carriers don't use them for pax flights over the pond.John

It depends entirely on the payload. Empty ferry flights from Toulouse or Finkenwerder to the States are quite common practice. The first aircraft to be allowed to fly into US airspace after the flight ban afetr 9-11 was lifted was in fact a brand new A320 for JetBlue on a delivery flight.
