"Overstressed" for nothing !!!

Recommended Posts

Actually I like the civil planes but sometimes I change (when I get boring) for speeder planes (as F14, Eurotypoon and so on) and for my surprise when I get some turns or loops, not so much at all, the monitor message comes "overstressed" and the flight get finished. Does anybody knows how the best overstressed setting in FS2002 for fighters? and how to get find out it in the program (the right path)! Thanks in advanced

You can change the airspeed limits (Vmo, Mmo) and the positive and negative "G" limits in the airfile to higher values if you want, but I think Ben has it right, the best advice is to simply turn off the crashes and damage in the aircraft realism settings by clicking the "ignore crash" option, and then enjoy your flight without being interrupted by "aircraft overstressed" when a tiny bit of turbulence pushes the airspeed past the barberpole for a second or two. The damage modeling was overdone in FS2002, if it were true to life then real aircraft would be dropping from the skies all over the world at a much greater rate than is currently the case.
