"are any benefits to be derived by increasing the scenery cache size from the default 100?"No....The only exception is if you've done a partial install from CD. If you've ever added add-on scenery, you should never check the "cache this scenery" option. Why? The scenery cache is not a place in memory. Rather, it is a storage area on your hard drive, meant to hold commonly flown scenery areas that you pull in off of a CD, which has slower access than a hard drive. The size increases the amount of files FS will hold in this folder, up to the limit specified. If none of your scenery is accessed from a CD (i.e., you've done a full install), and you've been careful not to check the cache option for add-on scenery, regardless of the amount you enter, the folder will never be used.-John
