October 24, 200916 yr Good Morning everyoneI suppose the question has been put previously but I did not find a comment on it.When I read the tutorials of TP I find the recommandation to disable the antivirus and firewall of the PC. Knowing the number of attacks coming up everyday I find this rather akward and wonder If I would not seriously expose my PC to unwanted dangers and troubles.A serious and precise answer on this matter and the decision to take use properly TP would be most welcomed.looking forward to your advices.ClaudeParis-France Claude

TP and FSX are on other drives/partitions. I keep the firewall up (zone alarm) and the router also blocks anonymous requests. It does not slow tile downloading. That's about 5-10 x faster than the scenery preparation by FSX on my system.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro

So this gives a definitive answer to the problem... :(Claude Claude
October 26, 200916 yr Good Morning everyoneI find the recommandation to disable the antivirus and firewall of the PC. ClaudeParis-FranceClaude,I suggest that you do not disable your firewall however I have run with my AVG Pro disconnected and got away with it. You must remember to reinsatate after a flying session, that for me is the biggest risk, forgetting. If I want to improve performance and make TP run faster I disable all non-microsoft services. This has the effect of closing antivirus plus a load of updaters which you definately do not want to run in flight. With the latest version of TP I have found that I do not need to do that. I have a quad core pc running at 3.3 gigsBernard
