I agree with Kyle. The GPS is much improved and showed no signs of being resource hungry on my paltry AMD700. I like it a lot better than the old GPS. I think you will too.KJhttp://fsgateway.com/frank/fs9paibeta.jpg

"The GPS is much improved and showed no signs of being resource hungry on my paltry AMD700. I like it a lot better than the old GPS. I think you will too."I agree it is far better than FS2002's GPS. I think I could launch a forum on the new GPS alone :)

Jon,That's a very good statement. I've honed my FS for speed--any degradation from the GPS is going to be noticed more, as I fly often with Autogen off and AI off, and I've set a high target fps of 25. What I do find, is if I enable Autogen and the GPS is online, it doesn't take even more off of the performance. For lack of a better word, it seems to take what it takes, and it leaves system performance alone outside of that. And as I noted, when it is in the background, there is no performance penalty regardless of what type of flying I've set up my system for.-John

John,You're correct with that statement. With all the added goodies on the GPS, some people will certainly need some ground school to get them up to speed. :-)KJhttp://fsgateway.com/frank/fs9paibeta.jpg
