My joystick is Logitech extreme 3d pro. Moving around the VC with the hatswitch is difficult because just by a slight touch the view moves two feet away. Can it be made more precise by reducing it's sensitivity (slowing it down a bit)?ThanksDS

In the main FSX directory there is a file called 'camera.cfg'. Inside are values that can be changed to affect FSX globally. You'll see parameters like the following for different views -PitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=75You can try adjusting the numbers down to make panning slower.BUT you better get more information before futz'n with this file.BACK IT UP!Here is some serious info --> http://forums.flightsim.com/fswiki/index.p..._GLOBAL_CAMERAS

Thanks a lot, McCrash, I'll certainly give it a try...DS
I tried that and it didn't work. There is another 'camera.cfg' file down where the 'fsx.cfg' file is ... it might be in a subdirectory. I am using W7 which has weird locations.Backup and change that one. I cut the values in roughly half. Let me know how it goes.

What Version of FS are you using? FS2004 or FSX?I know you can change the pan rate in FS2004 - no clue about FSX though.

FSX. (Thanks anyway, Opa)McCrash:I'm a little short with time right now, but will try tomorrow and let you know. I am on Vista and believe file folders are more or less similar.(I just saw a Logitech G940 review; seems the hat swich is much smoother. Users even report there is no need for TrackIr any more? Got to check my emergency savings...)

There are some review at NewEgg about the Logitech G940. The hatswitch on the G940 will most likely be just as fast.

Yes, it works.I've changed the virtual cockpit section (CameraDefinition.002) setting PitchPanRate and HeadingPanRate all the way down to 10 and 15 respectively. Now it takes me 7 sec to pan from one wing to the other (180 degrees) which is much better (for my taste). Maybe I will rise it back up just a bit (to 5 secs) and it will be perfect.Thank you once again.Daniel
