search engine got weak?

i don't know if some of you have noticed this but whenever i make a search with 3 letters and some numbers, no results show up unless i write a full word. to make it clear, i was looking for a klm overland 737 repaint. when i type in the search "klm overland 737" it ignores "klm" and "737" altogether and brings me 125 pages of overland repaints. as far as i remember, this hasn't been the case before the hack. any fix from the staff for the search engine?

That's an unfortunate side effect, it has to limit the number of characters it indexes to something and by default its set at three. I'll see about changing on when I do the maintenance tonight.

What about for 2 letter combinations? Trying to find American Airlines MD-xx repaints brings up 4 pages of repaints.Also, thanks for getting the library back up. It is normally much easier to find needed files here.

Sorry two letter combos are just too low, its too common to try to index all of that. Try taking out the dash you might have better luck searching for it.

That should have been 42 pages and not 4. I will try without the - though and see if it helps.

You can use quote marks to overcome the 3 character limit:"overland 737"or"overland KLM"

Thanks to Brian there is no longer a 3 character search limit in the Library.
