Vitamin TU154m

As Avsim.ru/su seems a lot more user friendly these days, I have been making great inroads in building up my Russian AI aircraft and scenery packages. I am finding it very hard however to locate the Vitimin Tu154m model. I followed a link that took me to a dead end, or to be precise, a Russian website selling Britsh motorbikes and womens underwear :( So my request is, does anyone have the model for this particular aircraft that they could make available to me ? Or at least point me in the right direction. Many thanks. Tristan.

Hopefully someone like Ed Detroit will pop up soon and give you a link, he helped me out with a few things on the Vitamin model.As an aside, do you use the PT 154M?

Hi Gavin, Thanks for your reply. The link you mentioned was the dead end I mentioned above. I did click on the link you mentioned and found myself downloading a '.rar' file, which confused me. Yes, I use a number of PT planes even for AI traffic. Problem is some of the repaints don't specify what version of PT I should use so I tend to avoid them, but they are quite stunning aircraft.

TristanA .rar file is just another type of 'zipped/compressed' file. Download the free '7-Zip' and this will 'un-zip' the .rar just like WinZip does for 'zipped' files. Your uncle's name should then be Robert ;-)I think the PT 154m is the best freeware aircraft in existence for FS9, though I am unashamedly biased.

Hi Gavin, well I unzipped the file (thanks for the advice). I found myself with a model.cfg file and a .mdl file, which is I suppose a start. But there is no air file or aircraft cfg file ??

Ah, didn't think of that. Perhaps someone here has those and can send them to you - or maybe ask at AVSIM RU? I presume that this would be ok as it's freeware.

Well thanks for all your help Gavin and thanks a million Ed for stepping in and helping out. I think I have just about worked it out...well nearly. Firstly, the wheels seem to be without textures, I guess I am missing a texture file but cannot locate it and secondly, I seem to have installed a 'PT team' header on the menu bar. I am sure it is a simple case of deleting something, but I am not sure what. Anyway, here is my first Vitamin Tu-154m.
