Just purchased J41, do I need the SP1

You could check the version this way:Open up your aircraft.cfg file (with Notepad - the file is stored here ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100)You should have these firts three rows in the aircraft.cfg file if SP1 is installed://///////////////////////////////////////////////////////14OCT09//VERSION 1.10.1016The original version was 1.00.0970.Hope this helps
