JS41- Propeller texture in rotation

Recommended Posts

Hello,In order to have a better and realistic texture of the rotation of the propellers, how may I cancel the stroboscopic effect which shows the blades instead of to have an almost uniform and transparent disk (i.e: the the propellers of the B1900D or C) ?... :( tBest regardsJean-Pierre Pruleau

I agree. The spinning props are not up to the quality standard of the J41.I think PMGD need to fix this.zach bogue

Gee, I thought we once got compliments on the prop. I'm not sure it is as easy as finding a spinning prop texture in FSX.

I certainly remember from FS2004 days that the prop disc was on one of the texture sheets...As I have never managed to create a single paint for anything, I can't really talk from experience...Sorry...Andrew

The spinning propellor blades on the PMDG J41 look exceptionally good to me, so I have no idea what you guys are talking about :(

It is an interesting discussion every time I read this one. Some prefer the props to look like the videos/photos available, on which you see the blurred blades, separate from one another. However, every time I look at a propellor at speed with my own eyes as opposed to a photo or video, I always only see a disc, no individual blades visible, unless the prop has a particularly low idle speed...It is all down to the shutter speeds that video and still cameras use when taking the pictures. There are always going to be two groups here (well 3, as I belong to the 3rd... I don't mind which get used...), those who wish to see the prop disc and those who wish to see the individual blurred blades...In some cases, there have been 3rd party changes, I know of the prop textures that Banana Bob Rivera has done for some of the FS warbirds (check out the sim outhouse...)Of course it would always be nice to have the option of both worlds but that would probably require doubling up texture sheets in the installers... or remapping the textures or something... just a thought for the future maybe ;)Andrew

Yes, the difference between what the eye sees and what a camcorder records is clearly evident in the Manchester Airport DVD that I created a couple of years ago (shameless plug there....sorry :( ). The spinning blades are very obvious in the DVD footage, but they were completely invisible to the naked eye at the time.

Hello,I am glad to see my remark regarding the spinning props of the JS41 is of interest for some Simmers. Every one try to have the simulation closed to the reality. The JS4 1 is an excellent addon, but the spinning props is not realistic because our eyes are not a stroboscope and cannot see the blades of preopellers when there are running, only the motion of the propellers can be seen which gives an impression of transparent disk.I try to modify the aspect of the propeller, but I am not a specialist :( Any help will be very welcome :( Jean-Pierre
