Mapping TOGO to joystick button - FSX

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to map the TOGO feature to my joystick for the 747-400 (FSX).When I looked up the key press sequence in FSX the TOGO function is set to CTL + SHF + G. However assigning this key press combination to my Cougar joystick, it doesn't work. Also, it doesn't work when I type it in on the keyboard either. My questions:1) What is the key press combination for the TOGO feature if I use the keyboard or the joystick button?2) Do I have to use FSUIPC to make this work?Bill Clark

Bill,Firstly, it's actually TOGA (stands for Take Off/Go Around), not TOGO - you pronounce it "TOE-gah."It depends on what joystick you have. If the stick has programming software (Saitek, CH, etc all do), then you can just assign the TOGA function to a keypress in the PMDG menu and then assign that key to your joystick button in the joystick's programming software. If you don't have programming software for the joystick, then yes you'll have to use FSUIPC to make it work.

Ryan,Thanks for the quick response.Yes, my stick is programmable and I tried using the following key combination for TOGA (spelled correctly this round) but it didn't work, neither did the same keyboard combination when I entered it via the keyboard: TOGA = CTL + SHF + GSo my question is, is this the correct key sequence for the PMDG 747-400 TOGA command? Also, when I looked at the PMDG menu, there was no function listed for TOGA under the Keyboards Commands section, but there were many others referencing cargo doors, etc.Bill Clark

Ryan,Disregard my response above.......I found the TOGA item in the PMDG menu and mapped the same keypress for TOGA that is used by the default airliners which is CTL + SHF + G.It now works greatBill Clark
