Increasing engine power

Recommended Posts

I want to increase engine power in the aircraft.cfg because my C-130 doesn't increase speed, just slows down, even at 1500ft/min! Can I just know how to increase power so it doesn't stall while climbing etc. Please, just tell me what to change guys...

Whose model are you using? And at what altitude? 1500 FPM is a fairly steep climb for a C-130. Are you sure there's something wrong with the model.?

I'm certainly no expert on this, but I have increased the power to some aircraft by modifying some of the info in the aircraft.cfg. Such as [piston_engine]power_scalar = 1.0 //Piston power scalarcylinder_displacement= 160.0 //Cubic inches per cylindercompression_ratio= 9.1 //Compression rationumber_of_cylinders=8 //Number of cylindersmax_rated_rpm= 2750 //Max rated RPMmax_rated_hp= 315 //Max rated HP [Reference Speeds]flaps_up_stall_speed = 54.0 //Knots True (KTAS)full_flaps_stall_speed = 49.0 //Knots True (KTAS)cruise_speed = 185.0 //Knots True (KTAS)max_indicated_speed = 210 //Red line (KIAS) This is from a Cessna 182..I changed.I have copied engine info into aircraft.cfg before, and changed engines. Experiment, just make a backup before making any changes

Does increasing STATIC THRUST do anything? It's a 5000, what if I increase to 10000 or higher? What does Static Thrust do? Engine section of aircraft.cfg

I suspect you are doing something wrong when attempting to fly this aircraft.

Hi Gus, Yours was a great link too. :( First time I had been there. If I were you Nandan, and the C130 is the only plane you're having trouble with.Download another C130.There's lots of them to choose from. This is my C130.I changed the prop img.The original had a red glow that showed on the props, I didn't like.I changed the cockpit too.The original I didn't like.sc130hpn.zip A good 2D panel.I forget which site it came from.Lots of options available with aircraft! :(
