NHancer and RivaTuner --? fps 3

Recommended Posts

Hi all,With Nhancer alone good framerates.I use it to enhance the image quality.I wanted to overclock my graphics card so I downloaded RivaTuner. It was only used to overclock.Framerates in FSX are 3 now.I un-and reinstlled RivaTuner, but the same thing. Then I downloaded the oc utility form EVGA.The same thing . Framerates 3. When Nhancer is alone on my pc no issues.Anyone knows how to oc my graphics card ?

I believe the 260 'Black Edition' is already heavily overclocked so by you overclocking it more, you're probably just failing with the clock settings. Make sure you know what you're doing and watch those temperatures and artifacts. I have RivaTuner and nhancer installed and never had a problem.

Download OCCT and test your card and monitor the GPU temp. Download GPU-Z, which will also allow you to monitor the GPU temp wile flying FSX.As Red says: Your card is OC:ed by XFX. Maybe your additional OC result in to high temps or instability, which will throttle the card.

Thanks for the advice.Just tested the GPU 's temp when flying FSX over detailed scenery. The maximum the GPU did was 66 degrees. With default ( but factory overclocked ) settings.I don't know if that is good or not. Also I did another test with RivaTuner alone without NHancer.Just running Rivatuner, without having done anything already brings the fps down to 3-4.

That's good. I'm no hardware expert but I guess that you won't have any problem as long as the temp stays below 80C.

I assume that you've disabled the nHancer service in Windows. What does GPU-Z say about GPU core, memory and shader speeds while you have RivaTuner running in the background?

After having uninstalled both Nhancer and RivaTuner, cleaned the register , defragged and reinstalle dboth , things got better.I now am able to overclock the card. However I only gained 1 fps extra when having overclocked :Core 666--> 720Shaders 1404 --> 1500Memory 1150 --> 1251A bit is better than nothing I presume.Thanks.
