Altitude Difference FS/Vatsim compared to 744 Instruments

Recommended Posts

Hi, when I look at the FS information line (where one can also display the frame rates etc.) or when I look at the track flown in ServInfo (for Vatsim), I get an altitude difference of about 400 feet.At that time, the plane happily follows my VNAV at eg. FL370 on the altimeter, but the altitude displayed by FSX is about 36600 feet. The altimeter is set to STD, but I've also tried manully setting it to 2992 and disabling STD, but it does not change anything in the 744 itself.I'd very much appreciate if somebody could take the time explaining what either I do wrong or whether the problem is on the other end...Many thanks in advance,Stefan

Perhaps Servinfo displays the Flight Level based on standard QNH 1013 and the FSX counter displays true altitude. That would do it.banner_fs2crew_team_kk.png

Thanks for your answer. I just realise I've probably expressed myself ambigiously: The FS information (the red letters also displaying KIAS or frame rates etc.) and Vatsim _agree_ on the lower altitude. The PMDG 744 however displays the higer altitude.I've tried setting the altimeter to STD (obviously) but also tried dialing 1013 in and leaving STD off. No change... As I didn't yet get "warned" by a controller, I suspect the issue is just a display one.. I'll try to find out on the Vatsim Forum. Many thanks,Stefan
