Anyone have any Aerosoft airports scenery packages?

Most of the smaller and medium sized airports run okay, it's just the big ones that I have problems with. Charles de Gaulle is one of them. I must say that Lisbon is very frame rate friendly and looks pretty good. Berlin Tegel is also very nice, but Brussels is an immense frame hog. Worst running scenery I have by them, given its detail and size... It's sized along the lines of Lisbon and Berlin Tegel, and these two performs okay for me.

I stopped buying anything from them a while ago. Nothing mipmapped so shimmering galore is everywhere, helo pads that you fall through, terrible performance in products that don't even look that good imo and little to no support. Tread carefully with them.

Out of curiosity when you where using them where you using the current computer that you have listed in your signature? If not if might be worth revisiting them.
I purchased 'Airport Sion X (FSX only)' form Aerosoft and it is a really nice piece of work. Check out the photos at their website.I was flying around within mountain ranges using REX and the scenery is just overwhelming.
To add to my Sion thoughts ...Note Sion on my computer has absolutely NO LAG. It's my new homebase. It's fun trying to get the single and twin engined aircraft out of the valleys. Switzerland in general I guess.Once I was using the Baron 58 and hit about 170 knots and tried to get over a range and lost speed down to about 117, was getting scary and I had to alter my course to miss some peaks.

Hey ThralniJust wanted to say thanks, I got the Lisbon airport at your recommendation and it's great, now I have a nice base to fly out of on the Iberian peninsula.Lisbon, Mallorca, Madiera, Ibiza are all good sceneries performance wise, that plus the sim giants sceneries for the Canaries means alot of destination options for that area.

NOT buying anymore from them, thats for sure!Me think they getting too big and arrogant, and now Mathijs Kok starts to bragg about how he gets 50 + FPS with a joke of an old ATI card, its rather pathetic I think, when we know that their products will strangle every decent performing rig!Why dont he just go back to FS 9, LOL!Ok, end of rant, some of their products are OK, but its a hit and miss.

It's the CPU he has that counts, not his graphics card. Anyway, I find their island sceneries (Mallorca, Madeira - haven't tried Ibiza yet) are great. Decent performance, great visuals, heck of a lot of fun to putz around. They've got plenty of other good products, but the islands really stand out for me.

I can get way more that 50 fps. BUT he gets it due to the fact that he turns off FSAA and AF (that's what I read anyway).

I bought their "African Airstrip Adventures." It's cool but it is the worst performing scenery add-on I have ever seen. I won't buy any more scenery from them. I love their airplanes.

Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.

Carefully research your chosen package to ensure it adds something. For example the Luxembourg package is better classed as freeware since it adds a shed or two to your scenery.

Those look pretty good. Might get them. Aerosoft should make many more airports and scenery in that area. Lots of islands to visit.Aerosoft should offer a holiday discount!

I have nearly every scenery product they released. Results are mixed. Some of their airports are real framerate killers, and this is NOT tied to size. Worst performing airports for me are Bremen and Hamburg, larger ones run much faster than those two.I love their airfields series and the isles they did. Ibiza is excellent, so is Mallorca. Manhattan is outstanding, London is a framerate killer.Generally speaking, their planes are better than their sceneries (although the sceneries aren't bad at all). I couldn't do it without the Twin Otter, for example, and the Catalina is one of my all time favorites.

If you have the London installed check in the 'Addon Scenery/(whatever director)/Scenery' directory and see if there are '.bgl' files relating to vehicles, cars, aircraft and etc.I was thinking that some could be deleted and the airport would not be as bad a frame rate killer.

You should be aware that their Heathrow X airport does not work in DirectX 10 mode. At dawn, dusk or night time, all the buildings lose all their textures. I do not know whether any of their other scenery is affected like this, although their Frankfurt airport seems to work properly.I raised this with them ages ago. At first I was told there would be a fix. Then I was given the brush-off: extremely rudely IMHO.In DX9, the quality and detail of the Heathrow and Frankfurt airports are good IMHO, but at a significant loss of FPS compared with (for example) FlyTampa's Hong Kong scenery which in my experience delivers the same or better quality and detail but with very little loss of FPS. My Aerosoft scenery works fine in FSX. I sometimes even seen improved performance in Germany. I have all of the German Airports 2 airports and now Berlin Tegel. I am hoping for a release of Munich. I will later add the VFR packages. I will also go back and straighten up my layers. I have scenery all over the place with regards to priorities. I hope this smooths out things a bit.

I have usually liked what I bought from them. In FSX, I don't have much of their stuff installed becasue I don't fly in Europe often. I had a lot more in FS9.I have the following:Lisbon - I like it a lotHeathrow (I think this is actually a simwings product) - I like it and the performance is a good as I could expect thereBrussels - FPS hog and no AES supportIbiza - very niceTahitiX - better than I was expecting, A little tough in FPS considering the size of the airportsMadrid - niceI am considering:Maldives - I know I am buying this as some point in the near futureManhattan - I'd like to see what my FPS in NYC are like once ImagineSim updates LGA. I don't want to add too much to this area or it won't be flyable. Right now with FSDT JFK it is rather flyableTwin Otter - A must if I buy MaldivesAspen - maybe, not sure how often I would use it.Of course, the best Aerosoft product is AES. It has transformed my world and I rarely fly without it now. I usually don't buy scenery that doesn't support it either.
