I know what a beta version of software is, but what is the 'Gold' version?

Gold is the FINAL release version to be stamped on CD and what you will receive in the box in retail.

Yup beta testers usually recieve a free copy of the software in question as a thanks for their participation and work in helping to make it (hopefully) bug free.Ryan
