Wilco E170/190 Very Low FPS

Recommended Posts

I just reinstalled the Wilco E-jets add-on on my new computer and went for a spin. The FPS was really bad, much worse than on any other add-ons I have. My computer is new and pretty powerful....I get 50-70 FPS in PMDG 737/MD11 etc with full clouds, AI etc etc at Heaathrow Extreme. I was in the E190 at Manchester DEFAULT scenery and got only 7-20 FPS in the E190! :( Is this a known problem with the E-Jets and is there a fix for it? What are other people getting for FPS? I will say I am running it on Windows 7 64-bit. I know the Digital Aviation Fokker had a low FPS bug with Windows 7, could this be something similar? It has to be some error as it's so much lower FPS than the PMDG/LDS add-ons I have and also I have read most people are getting very good FPS in the ERJ even with two year old computer. Andy S

That's pretty unusual. I'm getting similiar frames to other payware add-ons. Do you have the weather radar beam rotating enabled? How about gauge refresh rates? Maybe you should try lowering these? These are the only two things that come to my mind right now. Scoob of Feelthere support frequents this forum, hopefully he'll be able to chip in with additional suggestions.

Scobie I have a native install of W7, NOT an updgrade. I have read other threads on this and similar topics in various forums with regard to Wilco/feelthere products and the responses mostly have the feeling of the developers being quite hostile towards people asking such questions. A couple of examples from just this thread:

when was win7 released?when was the ejet released?
Not quite friendly customer service.
others report no FPS issues. how is your system different?
I have read that line over and over in other threads. The fact that most others and not having problems is of little use as I/we ARE having problems. Andy S

I know you don't support W7. I bought the ERJ when I had my old computer that was on XP. I was only trying a reinstall on W7 to see if it would work. I just thought the odd "sorry we don't support W7" or something similar would have made for a better tone in the reply, not the rather blunt ones given. Oh well....ERJ will be uninstalled and I, and others I guess, will just have to leave it at that. :( Andy S

when was win7 released?when was the ejet released?--is this a native install of win7 ... or a VISTA update to win7?others report no FPS issues. how is your system different? this is the developer challenge. how does an addon developed prior to win7 being released (some prior to VISTA's release) keep up?FS developers now have this challenge -FS9 on XPFS9 on VISTAFS9 on win7FSX on XPFSX on VISTAFSX on win7then there are the FS versions - SP1 (FS9, FSX), SP2 (FSX), accel, gold ....then there are the OS versons - 32bit, 64bit, SP1, SP2, SP3 ...----
I know that this is only a simulation but i think you should give it a go on W7 32 or 64as we all know every OS is moving forward not backwardsI work everyday with MAC OSX in audio production an since the old days of macintosh classic (my first putter)professionaly speaking had to update software, drivers, etc, you knowthe drill and nothing stopped software developers not to try updates of OS.I also have trouble sometimes with audio plug ins but never give up finding a solutionAnd by the way my first FS was on a mac same as youJorge filipeLPPR

The Digital Aviation bug is a different one (have you noticed MS Office, specially Power Point, runs a little bit slower in Win7? It's a similar bug, as far as I've read). What I did with the ERJ v1 (before v2 was released) was to set the Configurator in XP SP3 compatibility mode (right-click>Properties>Compatibility). That did the trick (and made me stop flying with Bill Grabowski's panel). Try that with your E170/E190, it has a similar configurator. Hope this helps.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel
