USB 3.0 specification is 4.8 Gbps (note bits per second not bytes per second) is nice but not that relevant to FSX until we have USB devices that use USB 3.0 spec. SATA 3.0 is relevant as it's 6Gbps vs. SATA 1.5 at 3Gbps and we have hard drives today that support that spec. But if you are thinking of using an external USB 3.0 hard drive to house FSX, that will be slower than hooking that drive up to an internal SATA 3.0 port.Still I can assure you that a good quality SSD (such as the one I have Patriot Torqx M28 with 128MB Cache) will be the biggest benefit to FSX. The problem with SSD is that it's still evolving technology and has ran into some road bumps along the way which has produce varying performance results in the real world applications/games/sims. I did a lot of research before I selected the Patriot Torqx M28 -- it's one of the few drives that retains great performance even at 97% capacity.Rob
