Hi,Just bought a copy of the 744X yesterday and to my surprise it runs reasonably well on my laptop!Anyway, when looking at the fuselage from outside it looks quite "uneven" (see attached image). Is this a settings problem ? (Using FSX-Accel. with DX9).Regards,Siggy

Do you have DirectX 10 Preview switched on by chance? This looks exactly like that. I wasn't sure if that's what you mean by ",,, with DX9" or if you are referring to using XP. The AA is broken in DX10Preview. If not, and you have a nVidia graphics chip, are you running nhancer?

Thanks. I once had DX10 preview on briefly (weeks ago) but switched it off again and I verified it is off. I am running Vista-64 and the graphics chipset is an NVIDIA GF 8600M GS. Yes, nhancer is also in use but even with the FSX profile reset to driver defaults, I am seeing this.Regards,Siggy

That is commonly referred to as a bump map (aka normal map). You can probably increase your visual appearance by turning on antialiasing (FSAA) and increasing filtering (anistrophic filtering)
