Feelthere ERJ v2 is a work of art.

Yup it is as close to a perfect release as you can get.I'm campaigning to get a 737PIC V2 done in similar fashion. Emailed Wilco who replied to say they were thinking about it!
WOWOWOWOWOWOWTHAT would be freaking awesome! I salute you, "clum"!

Did they model the real world crappiness of the radar? If so THAT would be a home run IMO......The only thing the real one was good for was getting you close enough to be struck by lightning. And yes I speak from experience.
Mike,I do not know what you meant by "real world crappiness".I cannot say from experience, myself. But the FPS stayed about where I had them locked around 30.And I could see the (free) weather radar without a problem.Did you happen to see the screenshots in this thread of the radar superimposed on the MFD?BTW, have you purchased the ERJv2 SP1 yet?

Vaughan,I think he is saying he has flown the real bird and the radar in a real ERJ is crap LOL... Sort of like the navigation in a Mercedes LOL!!!I also have to echo Mike's sentiments and with SP1 fixing those couple of nibbling issues in the VC it really is an amazing bird.Kudos to Vic and the team!-Paul

It MUST be said that if the FEELTHERE ERJ v2 is a prelude of things to come from that company, they have hit the nail right on the head and need to continue along this path. They have hit the ball out of the park with this aircraft, it is a joy to fly, a complex flyer's dream with all the bells and whistles befitting a "PIC" moniker. Not to mention 3 models each with their own personality and characteristics
I bought this product and also recommend it, it is a very refined offering plus an excellent value.I'll add that one of the overlooked things Feelthere manages to do is get good quality product out in a reasonable development time without a lot of drama. When you compare them to other aircraft developers in the same genre, does anyone match this performance? Not surprsingly then, this company has been very prolific and helpful to the hobby. I don't notice "When will it be available? When it is ready!" threads regarding Feelthere proably because such threads never have time to build.

High praise indeed, Mike's as tough and as fair as it gets - was mulling it over but it's definitely on my 'radar' now.

Mark

That's correct, I have over 4,500 hours in the real one, and it was a nice aircraft to fly. The Feelthere sim looks like it really does it justice. The radar in the real version suffers from having too small of a dish. The power output could be higher as well which would give you better returns and therefore a better overall radar picture. Of all the aircraft equipped with radar that I've ever flown, I trusted the radar on the ERJ the least if that tells you anything. That's why I said earlier if they could simulate the "crappiness" of the real radar, I would truly be blown away! It was sarcasm.

OK Mike. If I buy this based on your recommend and find its crap will u pay for it for me? I was considering buying it and after reading your post I think I will but it is as good as you say. Remember don't put your name on it unless you are sure! Lots of people are counting on ya! Will let ya know what I think. Thanks Mike!

I agree with these sentiments. Feelthere did the wise thing by not mentioning anything about this project until only a few weeks before release. There is nothing worse than visiting a developer's forum following a product announcement to find month after month that it will "be ready soon...". I have supported Feelthere for many years but have often felt a little let down by some aspects of their products. However, the ERJ v2 is a real turning point for them; they have really got this one right in every respect. Good on them! Especially for supporting FS9. :)

Wilco is not the best outfit to contact. Go to Feelthere's site and post these comments. Bring a few people with you as I too want to see the 737, CRJ, and Airbus updated on the level of the ERJv2...

Guys,I had no plans to buy this bird but now, after reading all this praise, I feel hooked.Despite, say, average reception of FeelThere aircraft among simmers, I did buy a few.I found them quite good but still not as much as I'd need to call them my favourites. The classic 737 seemed to be their top product so far. Now it looks like a new winner has come.A few quick questions I have to those who already fly it.I know I could probably find the answers somewhere in the FT forums, but if you don't mind anyway:1. How's the ground handling (I remeber the first version having problems with oversensitivity of directional steering before liftoff)?2. Is there a configuration menu allowing key assignment (they did offer it in earlier products)?3. Is there a load editor and / or fuel planner?4. How is it on FPS compared to other known payware birds?5. Can you choose separate VC and 2D models in the aircraft menu (very importnt to me, as a 2D flyer)? 6. If the 5th is 'YES' then does the non-VC model offer cockpit side views (bmp) and/or wingviews?7. Are McPhat liveries free or payware (like it was with the EMB-170/190)?Thanks in advance to anyone who would bring short answers to those. You really got me interested in this addon. Especially you, Mike.No other interesting aircraft on the horizon, except for the Simcheck A300. It's FSX only though (with an option for FS9 later).

5. Can you choose separate VC and 2D models in the aircraft menu (very importnt to me, as a 2D flyer)?
I thought no one does this anymore because it's just placebo. The VC is not being rendered and therefore does not effect performance if you're flying from 2D view. Any modeller please correct me if I'm wrong, but I do remember seeing topics on this on developers forums.

This is all from memory - correct me if I'm wrong.2. It is there, yes.3. Present - in fact, there is a "configuration utility" that lets you set fuel, payload, and a host of oher things, includin the initial panel setting (cold and dark etc.) upon the start f the flight.4. Pretty good, actually. Won't say it's a star, but it's also no frame hog.7. There are liveries included, yes, but additional liveries are payware.

1. There is an option to limit the ground steering at 40+ kts5. Nope, but there are ways to remove a VC from an aircraft model manually. I do it for all my add-ons6. NopeEgbert

Thanks a lot to everyone who responded.

Well, I'm not an aircraft modeller myself but when I fly PMDG MD-11 for example and switch to 'side views', there IS a noticeable loadtime for the VC textures. It's quite irritating to me. I don't dislike VC. I just believe giving people options will always be the best way.

Cool but doesn't it taxi nervously? I hope not, lol. I did have some addon planes that did.And it wasn't a question of my CH pedals' sensitivity, as it works fine on the others.

I hope you wouldn't mind PM-ing you on that issue, Egbert? :( If you do, no problem.
