December 23, 200916 yr If I use afcadttools for fs9, and wanted to change the ILS frequency how do I change it in the fmc database? I notice that some add on payware airports have duel frequencies for both ends of the runway. Example simflyers kphl. I edited the runways by unclicking enable backcourse. It worked fine. I want to give some airports a ILS frequency which do not have any. I know that takes away from landing yourself but hey just wanted that option. If I can change the ILS do I have to recompile anything such as fsnav? The fmc?

December 23, 200916 yr No. The fmc gets it's ILS information from the afcad. No, the FMC gets ILS information from the Navdata. Once selected a landing runway (747) the FMC will atotune the frequency present in its data base. If the scenery (afcad) has the same freq things will go right, i not, the aircraft will not follow the ILS loc and gs.ILS navaids are in FS9/FMCWP/Navdata/WPNavaid.Here you see an example:CHRISTCHURCH BU NDB -43.608886 172.393100374.00NCHRISTCHURCH NY NDB -43.528333 172.488333358.00NCHRISTCHURCH CH VORD-43.504100 172.514636115.30HIHW IHW ILS -43.500361 172.518614110.30TIn the line you have ident, type of navaid, position coordinates and frequency (110.30 in this case). signed: José Luis
December 23, 200916 yr Good point to mention that the ILS data in the navaid files needs to be consistent with the ILS data in the AFCAD...If not, then ILS landing will not work...If the navigraph data get updated, then you must check the AFCADs and update them accordingly.I had to do this with EDDF MEGA recently...Works well enough though...Andrew Andrew Entwistle

December 24, 200916 yr Lee Swordy's AFCAD program will let you edit and save modified airports for FS9 and should be available here at AVSIM, if not, try FlightSim.com. Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
December 24, 200916 yr Author I understand that. Where do I find it exactly. For example if I wanted to change kphl ILS where do I find it to change it in WPNavaid. or give tncm a ILs. I know how to do it in ttools. I just wanted to know for my own self worth. I am planning on how to repaint and build airports. So just wanted to know. Thanks for your help guys. What you think of the 787 this week. I have the abacus 787 for both fs9 and fsx. What a crap in fs9. In fsx it is a little better. I will never buy from them again. No real support at all. The hud has no info at all. It is blank, how did they miss that. However if you have fsx just go into the panel.cfg and compare the two and just copy and paste that file into the fs9 panel. However the cockpit is dark. No lighting at all. The wings are way over flexed. Anyway not trying to bash another product here. I am glad that Pmdg does fine work. When i install fs9 on the new pc the only plane that i will install will be pmdg and level d and the pss 757. I do not know how well the capt sim 757 works now or even on fsx but I am not going to install it. I am looking for a good 777. I like the simmer's sky fly the Boeing collection however I now love fmc planes. A very nice touch. Well let me stop babelling. Peace
December 24, 200916 yr I would have provided an answer long ago, and quite frankly am surprised others continue to give them. You've been asked now 2 times to follow forum rules and you still haven't done so. This post will most likely get locked. I'm not saying it to be a pain, but not complying when people remind you is disrespectful in itself. I did see that you occasional do add you name as Vincent. Add your full name to your posts in this forum, if you cannot remember then just create a signature in "My Controls" and add it there. Staff is cracking down on what they've already pointed out many times. Thanks, i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
December 24, 200916 yr Commercial Member My understanding is the main reason to sign your full name is so PMDG can check if you have bought a valid copy of there aircraft before they provide support. Even tho I'm around here a fair bit I don't put my full name unless I'm asking a specific question about the MD11/744 and I want the support guy's to respond. This guy seems to be asking a general FS question thats probably better off in the main forum anyway.Putting that aside I still think it's polite to at least use your first name, when I signed up to Avsim I didn't think I would stick around long so just typed the first thing that came into my head as a username, same with youtube I wont even attempt to repeat what my username is on there!!RobEDIT: Just got a friendly reminder that a full name should be used on all posts :) Guess I should stop being lazy and create a sig! :( Rob Prest
December 24, 200916 yr Author O.K Did not know my full name was not posting. Did not know if it was that serious. The name is Vincent Gage. I thought when I joined that the name was posted. I thought sinced I log on that info was being shown. Anyway I do whatever the rules are. I do not post much if at all. I work in Surgery a lot of hrs so I do not have a lot of time to research everything and where to post a topic in its proper place. Anyway happy holidays. Vincent Gage

December 24, 200916 yr Again, Vincent (and others), I am just trying to keep this thread from being locked. It is a good reference topic that has some good information I'm sure a lot will benefit from and would hate to have seen it get locked before others could share their wisdom etc... As I said, there have been a lot of threads getting locked lately for this and like others, I'm just trying to give heads up like others often do (see also this post).Anyway, merry christmas peops, time to go stand in some more lines @ the stores. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
