What aircraft work in FS2004? GMAX and FSDS2 but not earlier?

Featured Replies

Apologies if I have missed relevant threads but can anyone with the new sim tell me the answer to my title question?I hear dark rumours that with FSDS aircraft prop circles disappear, animations may not work, etc. These things might be updated with a model fix, perhaps, but that will be a pain if so.I understand the issues with FSUIPC and FSSound; I'm just talking about straightforward add-on aircraft from FS2002.Thanks for any input.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Well, a friend with FS2004 has just called to say that my DC-3 repaints - of Jan Visser's FS2000 aircraft, updated for FS2002, of which I've done 34 to date - work in every respect except for prop circles. So that may be a simple change of format for the bitmap, or it may mean a model update. Not sure yet, as I can't test them myself! Patience, Mark, patience ...Anyone else?Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Well, this seems to have become my own personal thread, LOL, but for anybody who does care I can now report that the good news is that a number of FSDS aircraft tested so far in FS2004 work just fine. So I guess that answers my question. Not all, mind you, but then I've had no chance to test solutions myself. So rather like FS2000 > FS2002, it may end up being a hit and miss affair. So I suppose I'll just dump 3,000 aircraft and start again. Yeah, right. But by all reports the default aircraft are excellent this time around, so perhaps I will just go flying for a while ...Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg
