MD-11 CTD on shortfinal TCAS2V7.dll

Recommended Posts

Hello All,After weeks of tweaking and reinstall after reinstall (trying to fix OOM errors), I'm back up and flying :)However, last night on a short flight from KLAS to KLAX, I had a CTD. Everything was running smooth before this happened. The fatal error exception stated TCAS2V7.DLL.I'm runningFSX SP2PMDG MD-11 (latest SP)FS2crew SP 3Radar Contact V4 for FSXWindows 7Any ideas?? I'm stumped, I hate having a great flight, 3 green and CTD!Thanks,Rob S.

Nope, it's also in my FSX root directory. Please sign with your full name.

Ok, I found it and the version is as stated on the PMDG wiki. I'm going to fly again tonight or is there something I need to change?**Sorry, I thought my auto signature had my full name**Thanks,Rob Sciarrino

My TrafficInfo.dll file version is the same as yours. I've also never experienced this problem so not much I can add other than the dll info.

I just saw the same thing last night with the 747X on short final to PHNL.I had the traffic toggled off (using the hotkey) in Ultimate Traffic II and had turned it back on about 40nm out from Honolulu. Since UT II SP1 I've also been seeing "flashes" of clusters of traffic, sometimes all red, sometimes amber, along with "TRAFFIC" in the same color on the ND. Is it possible there's something TCAS2V7 doesn't like about the way UT II is injecting traffic?I'm also seeing a lot of atc.dll CTDs at cruise with both the MD-11 and 747 in FSX lately...RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

I don't know Bob, I run UTII without glitches but I always leave it on. The only thing I don't like about it is the delay launching FSX while it does it's thing.

I just found that TrafficScanPerFrame was set to 100 in the FSUIPC4.ini file, so maybe FSUIPC was choking on all that traffic being injected at once. I set it to 10 like I have it set in FS9, and so far no glitches 90 min into a 10 hr flight from KADW-PNHL. I think (hope) maybe that was it.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Now that is interesting. I wonder what mine is set to, which I will check when I get home.

I don't even have a variable name like that in the FSUIPC4.ini file... I wonder what put it in yours, Bob?

I was having the problem with the CTD's and more than not it had to do with the TCAS dll. I found that an addon scenery file was causing stability issues. So I removed that and also went with the Nhancer video settings recomended by NickN. My setup seems solid as a rock now.RichQ96006Gig RamVista 64Nvidia 9800 GTX+
