AVNCS Fan Override

Hello,2 times i did a flight from TJSJ-KORD. And always around on decent i get AVNCS Fan Override. Which then speed goes direct overspeed. Altitude goes 100,000 ft when im really at like a 11. really i did a 5 hour flight and end up crashing that does not make me too happy. I did everything i could. Any help please!?!

Please sign your full name in this forum.Is this only happening on TJSJ/KORD and no flights that are shorter? Altitude 100,000 wow, I'd like to see a screen shot of that.

Yes only flight i have done. American Airlines MD-11. Yes it does go to 100,000 FT. But hitting Shift+Z when that happens im really only 9,000. Always under 18,000. Speed jumps. But same thing Shift+Z really going 200 KIAS

Hi Ricky, I too would love to see a screen shot of that. I think I know what your talking about, but not 100%. If your cpu is spiked on something else like another process, then it can have an adverse effect like your seeing and not just in a sim. The system seems to get a boat load of info all at once and it looks like your pressing fast forward on a dvd right? It happens when your system is overloaded normally, and stress'n sort of speak.Can you provide more info?System specs?Which version FS?

Running Dual monitors. FS9Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz3GB RamGTS250 1GB ramAnd i will try to get a screen shot. But im not looking forward sitting here for 5 hours and know i wont make it to ORD. Ill will try.

No Ricky, don't go out of your way like that, I forgot it took that long to see the problem. If you run into it again though definitely take some, and always do when you see strange things like that. Chances are that long of a duration is saturating your system due to most likely something hanging or clogging your pipes. I really can't say for FS9 though, but windows in general seems to lose more and more of it's recache ability over time. The only thing I can say is when your trying to find a strange anomilly like this you have to get crafty. To troubleshoot my last few issues I would run task manager and try and catch which system is "bogarting" my resources.My last mystery was Firefox was taking huuuuggge amounts of ram and a reinstall of firefox did the trick.I imagine your in good practices to before you start a flight of length your talking about, you do a fresh reboot, but here are a couple things that may help.After reboot, make sure the comp is 100% idle before you fire up FS.Don't run apps like firefox, IE, etc... before your flights (if you do monitor like I mentioned, something is hanging).Check your event logs to see if you have any application errors (sometimes they come in handy).Make sure your not running tons of apps when your system loads, in other words, if it's near your clock in the bottom right, it is running and some shouldn't be.I don't know your level of expertise in comp knowledge so don't mean to insult if these things have been already done, but sniffing around the system seems like your best bet.I have had strange things that ended up being a bad stick of ram. Find and run memtest. I have always built myself the latest and greatest blah blah blah, but one bad sector can reroute your traffic, and even the newest and best still has it's percentages of failed products.

I dont think any of that is a problem. I can play Call Of Duty 2 without one glitch all on high graphics. Not sure why FS2004 is like that. Or why its doing that for me. Now this plane will be sleeping in the hanger till i figure something out.

Call of Duty 2 is a modern game designed and written for modern hardware. FS9 and FSX are not. The fact that one works well says absolutly nothing about the others. Dan is giving you good advice.That said, I would suspect the FS weather engine which is infamous for sudden changes in pressure, temperature and/or wind with the usual dire consequences on your flight.
