Transoceanic Flights

Recommended Posts

Hi..I hope that this doesn't repeat as I tried to post it earlier but don't think that I clicked on the right button...I have PMDG B747 for both FS9 and FSX and love them both.. however I am trying to program transoceanic flights into them... Specifically, I went to Flightaware and downloaded the route for BA 195 from EGLL to KIAH.. it is..CPT UL9 KENET UN14 BAKUR DOGAL 5500N 02000W 5500N 03000W 5500N 04000W 5400N 05000W CARPE REDBY N206C YRI POLTY YSO J558 YXU J545 DJB J29 FYLLS J29 PXV J131 LIT J180 SWB TXMEX1 The question is how to input the 5500N 02000W 5500N 03000W 5500N 04000W 5400N 05000W part? I keep getting Not in Database errors. A search on this website from many years ago sand to use 5620W.. and while that goes in OK.. it takes the aircraft way south and I get a Not enough Fuel error.. Route finder isn't much better either as it takes me way off course. I even tried to put the route into Simroutes, and then save it as a company route.. but that doesn't work either...Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanceBob

Hi Bob, See page #30 of the FMC user manual. There are a couple different formats the fmc will allow. Both long form and short form.Using your first entry of 5500N 02000W, it would look like N55W020. Also when entering these I find it easier to reclick the last entry, to put it back into the scratch pad, then just clear the last two digits and enter the next set since half of the time it will only be that set changing. ie N55W020 N55W030 N55W040 N54W050Also, please sign your full name in posts here per forum rules, or add it to your sig, thanks,

Thanks.. I had reviewed pages 29 and 30 of the manual and I thought that I tried that, but perhaps not... so I will give it a try soon. Thanks again Bob LeBoeuf

It seems to work just fine now. What I was missing was that you have to put these into the LEGS page. Not as you are entering the Route... Thanks again.Bob LeBoeuf
