Moving Map for X-Plane? Use Plan-G freeware!

Recommended Posts

If this is old news I apologize, but it's new to me.:) I'm using Plan-G.exe on a client with X-Plane running on my main computer. There is a neat little plug-in for X-Plane that emulates FSUIPC. I can use FSMoving Map, FSMap, FS Commander (X-Plane flight planning) and Plan-G on the client. Even though they are using the FSX data base, the differences are minor. Plan G is the best freeware program I have seen in the last 5 years as it works with FS9 and FSX too. Plan-Ghttp://www.tasoftware.co.uk/ XPUIPChttp://www.tosi-online.de/First.htmlBob.. :)

Also-if you have an iphone (and fly in the U.S.) -you can use skycharts which now has vfr/tac/low ifr/high ifr, current metars/tafswith your aircraft georeferenced on them.http://www.skycharts.net/

So Skycharts allows input from X-Plane which shows up on the iPhone displayed chart, that move along with your plane, mimicking more or less a GPS moving map display?Do you just plug your iPhone into the computer and it hooks up automatically once X-Plane is running?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
