Europe to Caribbean flight plans

Recommended Posts

With most of the flightplanners I can find, any route from europe to the caribbean takes me to a point off the American coast and then south to the Carribean, making the trip around 1000 nm longer than a straight flight. Is this really how these kind of flights operate? Are there waypoints in the mid-Atlantic to use instead of only using NAT's?thanks

Hello sir.NAT's are used to fly from Europe to North America and vice versa. There are not any waypoints in the middle of the Atlantic, just a few ones starting nearby the coasts. Real flights navigate through coordinates via the IRS system. Hope it helps.Best regardsEd
