For useful help suggestions, we would need to know-what version you are using ( we would presume the newest available for download, but you never know...)-what OS are you using-have you been to Ed's site and applied his functional ini files-are you trying to run on 9 or X-are you using the correct proxyuser.ini for the sim version you want to use it with-where are your cache folders located-where is the Photoreal Scenery folder located-do you now have a revised scenery.cfg file and a smaller backed up copy of your previous cfg-do the new scenery locations show in the sim scenery settings window-are there any error messages-do 'ovals' show and fill in the console window during start up-include the proxyuser.ini file you are using in your response (copy-paste is fine)-where are you trying to flyLoyd

hello thx for the reply :)1. am using the latest tileproxy which id beta 8.2. my operating system that am using is vista.3. yes i have been to eds site i downloaded tile proxy through his site thn downloaded the user ini. file4. am trying to run it on fsx5.yes i think am using the correct user.ini. after i downloaded it i opened the folder to where i had a choice of fsx or fs9 user.ini , andi clicked on the fsx one and droped it to the tileproxy root folder.6. according to my pc i got 2 drives the vista© drive and the data(e) drive so i put the cache folders in the (e) drive and the photo real folder in the (C:)> program files, ms games. 7. (do you now have a revised scenery.cfg file and a smaller backed up copy of your previous cfg) = am not sure what this mean but i probably dont lol.8. (do the new scenery locations show in the sim scenery settings window)9. when tile proxy window is openn and fsx is loading for a fligt i do get messages scrolling up in the TP window messages such as:nettile:transfer#21 problem giving up!10. and i was trying to fly around heathrow, UK.thx :) any help would be appreciated.nettile transfer#22 failed to resolve host retrying<1>...error was 6 <couldnt resolve hostname> for transfer#<http://a2.ortno tile figurethisoutyourself /tiles/9031315302.jfg?g=209> cleaning up....10. there is ovals but in the TP start up if thats what you mean11.

Ok, the first serious problem located..The proxyUser.ini that you included is NOT usable... it is the incomplete version from Christian that is initially installed. You downloaded the good user .ini's, you said, but apparently did not use it to over write the original one.The error lines you posted have text that is ONLY in the original ini file; that one is not ed's. and will not work.error was 6 <couldnt resolve hostname> for transfer#<http://a2.ortno tile figurethisoutyourself /tiles/9031315302.jfg?g=209> cleaning upPaste the correct one from Ed's zip in the Tileproxy installation folder.you may have missed other important steps also. It wouldn't hurt to walk through the installation and setup instructions that Ed has written up on his site to make sure there aren't any obvious omissions. The ini is set up for the full range of image resolutions, but not every location has all resolutions available; some are very low and these initial settings will cause a lot of 'file not found' errors; be prepared to use some lower settings when this happens.Reading and re-reading the user's manual is important to help you get and keep things running. Remember it's a 'Beta' project and you have to be able and willing to experiment and tweak to make it work for you.In the sim, you can go to the Scenery Dialog window and you should see many entries with this naming convention:WORLD_0204, WORLD_0205, WORLD_0206 etc. These are the TileProxy Photoreal World scenery folders where the scenery wil be stored that TileProxy makes. If you see them here, they are in the scenery.cfg file. If they are not here, you may need to reinstall.Downloaded tiles are saved in the cache folders; it doesn't matter where or how many you use, just so long as the cache name is properly used in the active proxyUser.ini fileWe're here to help; now Good Luck and get some scenery on your screen :( Loyd

You don't have to keep the cache files, but it runs better if you do because if you go to an area you have been to before, it does not need to download them again.I've also got the photoreal world on the same seperate hard drive.I store mine on a seperate hard drive but you will have to either to reinstall tileproxy or reconfigure your settings if you do so that fsx knows where to find them.IAN
