Best FSX 737NG experience?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a 737NG to tide me over until PMDG releases theirs. What's the best model, panel, sounds, etc? Freeware or payware, excluding Ariane. -Alex

HelloThere is nothing out there if you exclude Ariane.Nearest you will get is the default 737NG fitted with E. Alstons ISG gaugeshttp://isgsim.com/

I have reinstalled FS9 just to test out the new Airsimmer a320. Since that damn bird is so CTD happy, I just had to check if it was really the plane or my FS9 that was suspect. To test it out I flew the old PMDG 737, and can confirm the airsimmer still has some teething problems. The pmdg is showing its age, but if you happen to still have FS9 installed its the only real alternative if you want a full featured 737NG to tide you over.I love the plane, but the lack of 3d parts in the VC and the laggy autothrottle/autopilot during real weather flights makes me anxious for the new bird.I'm also loving the quick load up times and the smoothness with full sliders and 100% traffic and heavy weather in FS9. I still stand by FSX, but I can understand why a lot of people still swear by FS9. So for me, its the FS9 for the airsimmer and the pmdg 737 for short haul US trips, and FSX for the PMDG jetstream and the long haulers with the md11/767/747. Best of both worlds, I must say!

The ariane is pretty good but I recently got the 737 PIC addon.Although the vc image quality looks dated the plane is pretty good so that may be a good alternative for now.
None. Buy the PMDG MD 11 and kit it out in cargo livery so you can do shorter hauls. It is an amazing simulation experience.

To actually answer the question:To me, the best option is the Default 737 with ISG1, TSS Sound Set, and FS2CREW PIC. ISG1http://secure.simmarket.com/ernie-alston-i...-1-(isg1).phtmlTSShttp://secure.simmarket.com/turbine-sound-...k-for-fsx.phtmlFS2CREW http://secure.simmarket.com/fs2crew-2010-f...er-series.phtmlNot the best option, but it will do for now!

A question and a comment. ISG1http://secure.simmarket.com/ernie-alston-i...-1-(isg1).phtmlI've tried to register on their forums to ask a question but have not been able to log in for quite a while. The ISG1 screenshots show the FSX default 737 2D panel with the gauge mods. Since I always fly VC, do the new gauges show up in the FSX default 737 VC as well? TSShttp://secure.simmarket.com/turbine-sound-...k-for-fsx.phtml I purchased this soundpack a few weeks ago and was blown away. I am a fan of the Just Planes DVDs and was pleased at how the soundset for the 737 matched real life. I would recommend this to anyone.Cheers,John

Yes...you can add the gauges to the VC .Not sure why can't get registered...it was a five minute process for me!

Thank you for the feedback, that's good to know. I registered with the site to post this question on their forum but I never received the "activated" email. It's been almost 8 hours now. When I try to log in it tells me my info is incorrect. If I try to re-register it tells me that username and email is already in use. Strange.

I have recently been flying the Default 737 because I bought FS2Crew 2010 (voice commander). I don't mind the default gauges and the VC is very good but the shocking climb performance and general FDE is terrible. I merged it with POSKY 737 to gain a better FDE but it still climbs like a missile. You're at 250kts in like 5 seconds on a 20deg pitch climbout.Has anyone successfully edited the FDE to simulate a more realistic 737 performance, and if so what did you change?

Regards,
