reinstalling DirectX 9

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody.I just finished re-installing FSX and all my favorite add-ons, and I just came across the issue where the red button no longer works. I had this problem before, and I recall the problem can easily be fixed by re-installing Direct X 9. However when I look around Microsoft's website, I get very confused as to what I am supposed to download. I find this small program that checks the internet for Direct X 9c updates, but I have a feeling that it does not re-install/repair the exisiting installation. And I know I re-installed DX9 before when I first came across the problem. Can anyone please post a link as to which program in Microsofts maze of downloads that will repair the DX9c installation and get FSCrew working again? Thanks in advance.

Hi Scott - In the future have a look for the Direct X End User Runtime: There is one that was released in September: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/7.../dxwebsetup.exe make sure to read the notes at the bottom of the page before installing. Before you install have a look at the current DX9 installation... click start, select run and type dxdiag and select the DirectX Files tab and make a mental note of the dates. After installing run dxdiag once again and verify if the files have been updated to the current version dated in 2009. Note that not all the files will be dated 2009.Good luck.
