ActiveSky wxRE and FSUIPC 3.0 in FS2004: no problems!

Recommended Posts

Guest Jozef_K

After downloading the new FSUIPC v3.0 I started ActiveSky wxRE v1.86. Then started FS2004 et voila, I got the real weather at EHEH (which I could verify with my own eyes). Switching FS2004 to Seattle (KSEA) and verified the weather there through Wunderground.com. Correct! Then I tried FSMeteo v5.1 but no luck. The program kept waiting for FSUIPC while FS2004 (with FSPUIC) was running. Conclusion: at the moment no problems with ActiveSky, but FSMeteo needs an update to run in FS2004.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg

There was just a 1.9 beta version of wxRE released that adds FS2004 support - probably should be using that... I'll bet something internally isn't working right with the older versions.Ryan

D/L the 1.9 version and check out the FS2004 readme that is included in the zip file. It will tell you what the new version does and does not do regarding the weather in FS2004.

I dont see the point either, if FS2004 updates the weather every 15 minutes that should be fine.OHN

Hi,Some features ASwxRE has that FS2004 doesn't:- Intelligent METAR processing for more realistic depiction of weather based on METAR strings- TAF processing with true dynamic weather- Offline mode (also with TAF dynamic wx) with loadable weather cycle sets- NOAA data servers utilized = more accurate data for the entire world incl. winds aloft- Wake turbulence simulation- Intelligent turbulence simulation- Weather briefing read-out- Flightwatch radio- VATSIM download option- Many configurable weather processing and download options- Radar Contact 3 integration- FSFlightMax integrationEnd result = more realistic weather. FS2004's new wx engine is great, but it is not a complete solution for those who want better realism and control of their weather environment.More info at http://www.hifisim.com-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
