How To Perform Missed Approach

Hi Guys,For the past week, I've learned to fly the PMDG 747 with all its complicated aspects - FMC settings, Fuel loading and calculations, CAT-III ILS autolanding and manual landing. Assumed that my FMC is set up completely, how do I perform the missed approach (If autolanding is activated)? Shall I just select "ACTIVATE" in FMC and "EXECUTE" the remaining plan?

Assuming you set MCP ALT to missed approach altitude during final approach, all you have to do is press the TOGA button and follow the flight director cue bar(s). The FMS will follow.Check the AOM on things like this. For example pg 10-11.

Don't get in a hurry to raise the gear and start the flaps up. Depending on the altitude of the missed approach, the aircraft could actually touch down on the runway before it starts to climb.Bill
