and now another problem, flying in Europe, after turning from dawn to day I had the disappearing textures, lost almost all vc textures and exterior textures. LOL I HATE THIS GAME!!!! every flight has been some sort of issue. I'm ready to throw my newly built computer out the window

O/C my GTX didn't do a thing, though its no 5x serries ATI or Fermi, but Ping Pong was using the ATI 5970 but was still getting system crashes with BP=0 and thats a very fast card.
I am actually selling my 5970, it worked okay, and got me good frames but I couldn't get rid of the artifacts, I took the PC back to WinXP and put in a gtx280 + TH2GO which is okay, but only 1gb.So I decided to get my hands on a gtx 285 2gb and give that a go. The high resolution I am using 5040 x 1050 requires a high VRAM card to take advantage of the tweak. If you use a smaller screen a 1gb card will work just fine I have the tweak working perfectly on my core2 duo which displays on an old apple cinema display which diplays at 1600 x 1024.

Amazing, I've been searching for the cure to the black screen ever since I built my computer. Two flights completed with no problems - Was even able to alt-tab out of FSX and back in several times, which before almost always caused a black screen and would not let me back into FSX. Just flew w/ VATSIM LVLD 767 into FSDT KORD at night, smooth sim and no artifacts, corrupted textures, ect! I'm not getting too excited yet because when I turn off my computer who knows what is going to happen next. It's only been one day.Anyways, here is my steps I took to get everything working correctly. Unlimited FPS in FSX, FPS Limiter to 30 FPS BP=0Prerender Limit = 1 (Like you guys found before, I think this is the key here)TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=70[TERRAIN]LOD_RADIUS=4.500000MESH_COMPLEXITY=100MESH_RESOLUTION=22TEXTURE_RESOLUTION=29AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4DETAIL_TEXTURE=1WATER_EFFECTS=6 (High 2.0 - Not sure if water affected anything on my end, but I increased it and it works fine)NVIDIA 197.13 DriverI've noticed increasing LOD Radius & Texture max load will give corrupted textures/black screen. You guys are great! It's really good to see everyone's hard work to fully making this sim enjoyable Now, let the FSX gods strike me with black screens and errors :(

And what screen resolution, what kinds of filtering are on and or off in nhancer etc? You cant leave that out, becuase BP=0 on high IQ settings is what some are also trying to achive...it just breaks.Back to BP=400000000 for me and yes FPS limiter is golden, though I cant enjoy the FPS gain I got with BP=0, it is smooth, stutter free and best of all no corruption at all my sceneries with complex aircraft.

I've told this several times in different topics here but apparently no one believes it.If MS don't change video memory management under WDDM1.0 you will not be able to increase those settings under Win7 unless you fly the lawnmover cessna and land on a gras runway :-)

For Windows and FSX I use a resolution of 4320x900.That is sharp enough and not as taxing on the system as 5040x1050.

Oh, I do believe this. I also found in more than one try, that if I run 4.5 and 1024, I got virtually no crashes or errors. Even with BP=0. I just didn't do opposite testing, BP=4MB (or whatever, just not 0), and 8.5/4096.But am I to understand correctly, if you would use XP with those settings, you would, because it's another memory management?

Hi,That's just not true, at least on my system. My settings are listed below and I spend 99+% of my flight time in the Level-D 767 and I no longer get corrupt/black textures. Longest flight since making the changes listed below, 6 hours & 45 minutes (real time). Also note, I'm using FPS Limiter.[GRAPHICS]TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096[DISPLAY]TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=70UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=0WideViewAspect=TrueRUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.60 //Runway LightsRUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.40 // VASI LightsRUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.40 // Approach BarsRUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.40 // Strobes[Weather]CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=12CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=12[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285.0]Mode=5040x1050x32[TERRAIN]LOD_RADIUS=8.000000[bufferPools]PoolSize=500000[FSDREAMTEAM]AntiPopUp=30===================================================================------------nHancer------------I followed all of Nick's nHancer settings with the exception of the following.Anti-Aliasing = 8xSQVertical Sync = Off - (I just noticed this setting was set to off (Earlier Testing) - I do not see any difference with it on or off, its now ON)Prerender Limit = 1CPU Multi Core support = Multi core===================================================================------FSX------I followed all of Nick's FSX settings with the exception of the following.GRAPHICS----------------Full Screen Resolution=5040x1050x32Filtering = Anisotropic is selected & Anti-aliasing box checked - (Although I did not notice any graphical change between my settings and Nick's)WEATHER----------------Cloud draw distance = 110mi/176kmThermal Visulization = NoneSCENERY---------------Autogen density: None - (I never liked FSX's Autogen, After all my testing, I finally decided to just turn it off)Special Effects Detail: NoneTRAFFIC-------------Airline Traffic Density (%) = 100 - (I'm using custom / Independently installed AI)General Aviation Traffic Density (%) = 0Airport Vehicle Density = MaximumRoad vehicles (%) = 0Ships and Ferries (%) = 0Leisure boats (%) = 0===================================================================----------------------------Cloud Flashing Fix----------------------------bool NewMaterialUsage = false

Maybe your Autogen=0 setting protects you against black screens or disappearing textures, Mike, because autogen also use a huge amount of video memory.

Hi Capt,Could be, although I'm happy with my settings, I'll try turning up the autogen and see what happens. I'll get back and let eveyone know my findings.

Aerosoft claims autogen needs to be set above sparse I believe because of the way they design their airport scenery.I have noticed the only time I get a loss of textures is when the game switches from one time to the other. So for example dawn to day, or dusk to night. This is while running active sky, I believe I have tried with default downloaded weather and the loss of textures does not occur when time switching. I wonder if it is something to do with the way an external program talks with fsx? I am going to put frames to unlimited and try the addon frame limiter.

Mike - No need to have FSX control AA, try unchecking Anti-Aliasing as you are controlling it with nHancer settings already.Having just perused this long thread I not seen the cloud flashing fix before, where is it inserted and does the commnd work with the spaces or is that the way you typed it?Thanks,

I just want to know how to overclock my i7 950 to 4ghz
Check out the MOBO websites especially EVGA's forum. Usually you will find a step by step guide for a rig similar to yours.jja
