Forceware 197.15 Windows 7?Anyone have success with the above driver?I tried some of the new ideas. Even though there a less spikes and less flashes, I'm still getting them.

MSFS

Just installed them new Forcewares, and so far it looks good..They fixed the 197.13's fan issues.

This is the best and most important tweak ever created. I say this because if FSX is not handling video memory properly and this tweak allows it to work the way it is supposed to, I'm seeing double the fps and performance. This is astonishing.
Double?????? I think then you may have other issues. :(

Actually the 197.13 version fixes the fan issues with 196.75 drivers. The 197.13 beta drivers are excellent. More info here: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=279647IMO these drivers are another holy grail.
IMO these drivers are another holy grail.
That may depend on you previous driver... They don't make a difference here at all (coming from 196.21).

Came from 195.62. More info in the thread.

Hello Bojote and all,I ran a fairly long test with Bufferpools=0 and the Aniso on Nhancer shut off. At least I think I did, for the panel does not give me control of the check box in "Global." It shows it as being checked in the background: as follows:1269189992.jpg1269112615.jpgI changed my Quality settings (previous to now) to High Performance based upon reports (J van E I think) that it helps the system to resist artifacts without losing undue appearance. In any case artifacts and flashing remained under these operating conditions.StephenPS Edit: I run 185.50, if that makes a difference.

I wanted to post an update on my comments far back in this thread. I've been using the BP Tweak since the thread was launched and had not seen any anomalies. However today I needed to test something under FSX SP2, so I installed the SP and launched the sim. I saw the same texture flashes and issues reported by others in the thread. I uninstalled SP2 and no more texture issues. I don't normally fly with SP2 installed so it is not a big deal to me, but I thought I would share my information for others and also qualify some of my earlier comments about the tweak working with "no issues". I think my observations serve as a good example that one tiny detail omitted from a discussion like this can have people chasing their tails and/or wasting their time trying to achieve what someone else claims to have achieved.Regards,John

John,I think this is an important clue. We are collecting a lot of hard evidence. The question remains, what does it all mean? :(Stephen

I think bojote wanted you to turn of anisotropic filtering on the Enhacements tab of nHancer... and not Aniso. sample optimization... So turn it of there and while you are at it, turn both Triliear optimization and aniso. sample optimization on. And set Filtering in FSX to anisotropic.I run 196.21 btw: you might give that one a try... (Before I install a new (or old) driver, I always uninstall the current drivers and then reboot in safe mode and let Driver sweeper remove everything that was left.)BTW Last week I posted that I didn't dare to change anything on my system, but I do dare now: I've tried a different driver today (didn't make a difference) and I also gave nHancer another try (didn't make a difference either), so right now I know exactly what gives me the great performance I have! I might post my settings later tonight.

Thanks, re-testing...

Well said John, omissions are a serious flaw of reports, feedback and any post like this. That exact point of sharring and posting relevant details was raised well into the beginning of this post, has largely been ignorred.Same with the point about if your having troubles, just lowering image quality settings=less stress on the system=less stutters, less artifacts, less black screens which seems where this topic is headed back to.Quick question on FSX-RTM, does the AG fade into and out of view or did it never exist in FSX? I forget when we lost that feature and for those that want it I wish we could turn it back on. Maybe ******* can find that in the Dlls...

FSX never had that feature. Unfortunately...

Crying Shame.
