*************************. I set up FSX according to NickNs tweaks since the start and moving to Windows 7. It worked great but in heavy areas it was not what I wanted. I wanted MORE performance, so I put the lines I stated in the first post in the CFG. NO TWEAK IN THE FIRST POST HAS BEEN STATED AS A FALSE TWEAK, OR MIRACLE TWEAK BY NICKN. It even has on the tweaks that is in his guide :D. If you would actually take just 2 minutes, TWO MINUTES trying it (Have you become so lazy that you can even donate 2 minutes to put two lines in your CFG?), you would see what I'm talking about then just shooting it down not even trying it and speculating and making senseless, stupid posts. I'm not asking for 1 hour of your time here.All of you guys are missing out bigtime I'm telling you, and I can't wait till the day you start complaining about FSX performance again or move to FS9 and then nobody is going to help your sorry ...-----------------------------------------------------------------People that want to improve performance ignore this thread, I have posted a new one with more testing and explanations of each tweak. In regards to FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION, read the following.On multi-core machines in SP1, Aces moved many of the fiber jobs off of the primary thread and onto secondary threads. Since FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION only affects scheduling of jobs on the primary thread, it will have less of an impact on the performance of Flight Sim on multi-core machines. In fact, Aces moved so many jobs off of the primary thread that there probably isn't enough fiber work left to soak up the full time allowed by the default value of 0.33.Therefore, on multi-core machines, there is very little reason to tweak the fraction because it really only impacts performance of single core machines.So if there is not enough work for 0.33 why change this to 0.66?.

You're the one using swear words and being abusive to people (putting in a few asterisks does NOT make swearing OK, it is still clear what you are saying). *Deleted FSX.CFG*Ran FSX and set the settings I prefer.*Opened CFG and entered FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.66 AND AffinityMask=12 (Google both tweaks to find out how to enter them in the CFG)

HAVE YOU TRIED IT? No? ok. FSX was designed for single and dual core processors. It has code that has been built for single core processors. FSX has code from FS2000. FSX has been designed with linear processes from the start, it was never made for parallel multi-core processing! When they start from scratch, will it then be able to utilize Quad Cores efficiently on EVERY system. Maybe that is why AffinityMask=12 gives me smoother flights and more FPS. Windows threads run on the 1st core and some spill over the 2nd core as well. Why do you think NickN recommends setting AffinityMask=14 instead of 15? Because 14 runs on the last 3 cores and leaves one free for other processes for the System (Such as for the graphics driver, EVERYTHING is processed through the CPU before its sent to the GPU, and if you have FSX on all 4, you are bottlenecking your PC because the 1st core is filled to the brim, since FSX processes flight dynamics on the 1st core, and on top of that you have the OS and drivers, which causes a huge overload on the first core.) and add-ons that may have separate processes/theads/fibers and/or complex avionics.This is not a really good analogy, but here it is anyway:To make it simpler running on 4 cores is like the evening traffic where everything is slowed down, and running on 2 cores is like a 4 lane highway with 2 HOV lanes. The 2 HOV lanes allow the cars that are more important and have more people (in this case more importance in processing) to proceed on clear lanes, while 2 lanes have traffic, and it reduces the traffic build up overall because the 2 HOV lanes will deduce traffic from the 2 traffic filled lanes. Where in the other case all 4 traffic filled lanes are moving but it is very slow and nobody is getting no where. Someone in an ambulance which has more importance can't cut through and get ahead because its too congested. No the key word is not "You" no where in the previous posts have you stated it works for "me" so far. Everyone except for one has just shot it done senselessly. The Core i7 maybe fast enough that it has little effect. This thread is for people that want MORE performance, because it they are getting to low FPS, or are not satisfied with their FPS. I have seen your pictures/videos with the LevelD at 100 FPS in New York or whatever city it was. There is no need for you to try it.

I said Try it yourself or go away, because everybody here was shooting it down. Nobody said they tried it. Nobody posted a serious response. They can either try it and either it works for them or it doesnt work for them. If it doesn't work for them it doesn't mean its not going to work for other people, and it doesn't mean people that haven't tried it have to shoot it down.
