COF / Gerrish Gray's Trees

Recommended Posts

Hi all! Just picked it up........after I said I wasn't going to right away! LOL! I tried to put some scenery in that uses Gerrish's trees, but the trees aren't showing up. I don't even get the white boxes that we used to get before. They just aren't there. If you got them to work, please tell me where the pieces went that made them work. I have tried every combination (except for the one that probably works!) and no joy. Any ideas??? Thanks!Don

I had white boxes in sceneries which were using Gerrish Gray trees (like Naji's Fox Outpost or EPWA in Warsaw Poland). My procedure:1. Use trees_v3.zip Gerrish Gray's trees.2. Put Trees_0.bgl file in fs9/scenery/world/scenery folder.3. Put textures from fs2002.zip (included in trees_v3.zip) in fs9/texture folder (not in fs9/scenery/world/texture !!!).4. Delete all trees_0.bgl, trees_2.bgl and appropriate texture files from all local add on texture folders (according to read me file contained in trees_v3.zip).5. Delete all Gerrish trees texture files from all local add on texture folders (according to read me file contained in trees_v3.zip).In my opinion Steps 4 and 5 are not necessary but save space (I didn

The Gerrish trees_V3.zip that you describe are necessary for scenery that uses his trees.I was waiting for someone to say his trees worked ok in CF9.In case you are not aware he also has replacement trees for the autogen trees. Search the AVSIM library for gtl_agen.zipThere are 5 texture files, 685 KB in each file compared to the default files that are 85 KB. Treesfa.bmp, Treeshw.bmp, Treessp.bmp, Treessu.bmp, Treeswi.bmp to be placed into CF9 texture. I just did and they seem to work ok. Back up the default textures just incase. You will find them alphabetically in CF9 texture in the last part of the 'T' section. The more KBs the better they look.
