Pacific North West from ORBX is out !

O.K. I'm convinced... As an FS9 simmer today I see light at the end of the tunnel. FSX will be on my drive with ORBX being one of my first purchases in 2011. By then I should be able to buy a machine for a reasonable price and run FSX with smooth as silk framerates with anything I throw at it (man, it's been along time coming :( ). Granted today's machines seem able to pull allot out of FSX so another year to solidify this trend can't hurt. I'm enjoying FS9 now but can't wait to dive into FSX. The shots in this thread are exceptional and it's about time... :(

My machine runs FSX really well with C2D and a new video card on Windows 7 now. Within another year with newer processors, hard drives, and video cards if you do everything right you should end up with a beast of an FSX machine! I'm thinking of building an entirely new rig probably later this year or next year as well, so it should be interesting to see where the video card war goes because it's heating up now and to see what processor innovations are made. Gonna be a good year!

Thank you sir!And yes, by 2011 what is high-end today will be pretty affordable then. I shudder to think of what new CPU/GPU tech will be out by then. Currently the GPU war is hotting up between nVidia and AMD, so that is good for consumers.

I made a video with the new EZCA camera tool showing a flight from the Leisureland Airpark (WN96) to Quillayute (KUIL) over the Olympic National Park. I captured the footage in real time with Fraps, so no framerate improving tricks here:

Amazing work Jigsaw, not only does it show off PNW, but Carenado should be paying you for advertising, LOL.

Nice vid Patrick! I love the wobbly effect in the VC view, adds a whole new dimension.Incidentally, the video is entirely located inside the FTX PNW free demo which we're hoping to release today. It's the entire Olympic Peninsula in spring time, and there's no time limits on using it.

Great news about the demo being released today. I am just waiting for that time of the month to get some more funds and was really interested in purchasing PNW so at least I can see what the fuss was about. :(

Jigsaw, lovely video, really caught the mood... mellows me out after the morning stress!I am looking forward to an i7, to get that much more out of PNW and AU...Andrew

Thanks! For some reason I used the correct designation everywhere else except here. :( I'd like to correct it, but I can't edit my post anymore.

It's hard watching videos like this. I knew when FSX came into it's own it would be something to behold. It was up in the air when or if that would ever happen. Now it's a relief we are finally there. Orbx is one of those few add-ons like REX that turns the sim into something that goes beyond expectations. I'll watch with great interest and see you guys in another 12 months with FSX on my box...
