ATC doesn't assign ILS runway to me anymore in VHHH

Featured Replies

Guys,I am having a bit of problem with landing in VHHH.During every approach, ATC always assigns me a visual runway to land although I am flying with IFR. Same thing happens to every other AI traffic. I know I can still use ILS to land anyway, but this just bothers me. I rencently installed an addon scenary for VHHH, and I wonder if that is the cause.Anyone has any solution for this? Thanks!

What weather are you flying in? If the weather is clear, ATC will probably give you a visual approach. Flying IFR doesn't mean they have to assign you an ILS approach. If you're getting a visual approach in low visibility, or with a lot of clouds, then something might be wrong. You can also try to ask ATC for a different approach, if you see any ILS approaches in the list.

All default runways at VHHH have a default ILS and associated approach code. That means regardless of weather ATC will always assign and say fly the ILS (when on IFR FP) since this is the only clear weather (both VMC and IMC) approach in FSX. If ATC is saying fly the visual approach then you have lost all your ILS approach codes.I would suggest you remove the addon and see if ATC now recogizes all the ILS approach codes.jim
