March 6, 201016 yr I'm ready to pull the trigger on this fantastic scenery that I keep reading about - Orbx release FTX Pacific Northwest! However, I would love to see a map of the area that this scenery covers! Does one exist somewhere? I went to the Orbx site and viewed the video and the screenshots, but I would like to see the coverage area displayed on a map to show me exactly where this scenery has been changed. If there was a map somewhere, I apologize...because I haven't seen it.Stan
March 7, 201016 yr Commercial Member http://fullterrain.com/product_nablue.htmlThat is our PNW product page. You will notice a small mini-map on the top right of the page.Below that is a download link to a KMZ file, which you drag into Google Earth. It will show you every airport, feature and lots more POI's contained in our coverage area. Cheers, John Venema

I wonder how many forum users have tried that? It's incredible, and my Visa card just FLEW out of my wallet.Stan

The directions from Google say to "drop the URL from where the KMZ file is hosted into the Google Maps Search box..." Fr. March 7, 201016 yr Download the KMZ file, rightclick on it and choose to open it with Google Earth...?. . . or use File/Open from within Google Earth Tom
March 7, 201016 yr Commercial Member ... or run Google Earth and drag the KMZ file into it. By default the .KMZ file extension should already be assigned to Google Earth as the default application, so double-clicking the KMZ file will launch GE also. Cheers, John Venema
March 7, 201016 yr Author Pacific NW downloaded, installed, and test flew it out of KSEA for just a short flight. All I can say is that Seattle and vicinity NOW LOOK like the Seattle I've been to. Absolutely incredible detail and what fun to fly over. I am going to be so very busy exploring the many phenomenal intricacies of this wonderful scenery product.Looking forward to my day (my Wife isn't). I need to spend some more time with my Wife to "build up credits" so that I can plant myself in front of my computer for a few hours.Thank you ORBX.Stan
March 7, 201016 yr Moderator . . . or use File/Open from within Google EarthMy bad. I mistakenly thought that I could use the Google Map instead of having to d/l and install Google Earth. :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 7, 201016 yr Pick up the Seattle sectional. http://sportys.com/PilotShop/product/10588 Lots of cool stuff for flying VFR. VOR's and airport id's and radio towers. No sense in buying the Starks Twin Oaks if you dont know the VOR frequency to fly to it. :(
