Those videos look pretty sweet.I am wonder though if there is a performance hit when using it and how easy it is to set up. I glanced thru the PDF that you can view and it looked, at a glance like a beating to get set up. All I really want it for is the head shake effect when landing or in turbulence.

Since the thing effectively works by shifting the viewpoint, necessitating a screen redraw, there most certainly will be a performance hit, but one would think if your frame rate is okay, it would probably be worth it for the more visceral feel you'd get. Anything which can add that which is missing from FS, is worth a little hit on performance in my opinion, so long as there is room for it on your current FPS.In any case, think I'm going to give it a shot and try it. Looks like it would add a lot to the experience.Al

Yeah I agree, it looks like it will add a lot to the experience and my FPS are fine so it shouldn't make much difference. Really there's nothing to lose since they have a 30 refund if you dont like it.

I do not think it forces a redraw... It is more like the parameters are set and on the sim redraw cycle the sim grabs those parameters and uses them.

Thanks,

Oh I agree, it won't actually force a redraw, but your monitor will have to do more work shifting pixels around if the viewpoint is changing, and that will mean more work for your graphics card for sure.Al

Warning! EZdok and TrackIR are not compatible so in order to use them both you either need to find a way to use Mouse Emulation (and actually like it, I didn't) or learn to switch from one to the other.

The effects this program is capable of look amazing, but how easy is it to use? The screenshots I saw looked absolutely convoluted. Like a poster above said, all I want is some more immersive movement from turbulence, landing, etc. I'm not in it for making fancy "movies" or anything.

Okay, I bought it, I have Track-IR too, but can't always be bothered to use it, so this is a nice lazy alternative. Despite the manual making it sound like it's a pain in the &@($* to set up, it's actually not, I just left it on the default settings and the only thing you have to do is get it to rejig itself if you install a new aircraft. It's pretty nice, and it does add a nice subtle but convincing effect. Very good for open cockpit stuff at low level, not tried it in an airliner yet, but I daresay it will be as good.Al

Any performance hit Al?

Doesn't look like it makes much detriment to performance to me - I didn't actually note the FPS numbers, but if it was doing anything at all, then it was certainly minimal. Pretty impressed with it so far.Al
