Question Before I Buy

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone!I'm considering finally putting down the $30 to purchase the excellent MAAM DC-3 package. I've been a hold out for a while, relying instead on freeware examples. But the time has finally come...I think.I've read about other packages having problems running in Windows 7, especially the 64-bit version. (I'm still lamenting the loss of my favorite GA machine, the Dreamfleet Archer III, since I "upgraded" to 64-bit). There seem to be some problems with the MAAM DC-3, too. Can someone give a quick overview of problems that may occur when running the DC-3 in Win 7/64-bit? I'd love to make the purchase, especially to help out such a valuable facility as the MAAM, but want to make sure I'm getting the most from my limited financial resources.Sincerely,Al

I have FSX on Windows 7 and 64 bit and it runs just beautiful, I think it is one of the best buys on the market. I went to DC-3 Classics and downloaded the IFR panel for it. You might want to visit their and get their repaint. Remember this is a FS9 aircraft and you convert to FSX so follow all the instructions and downloads from MAAM with all the updates.

Question about where to install? On the CD version, the default install is to FS9. Do you instead install to Program Files (x86), thence to Microsoft Flight Simulator X ?Thanks,John

Go for it Al. If you have any problems, come here.....Most everyone here is helpful, with information.....And Bill Rambow wont steer you wrong.....MAAM-sim aircraft are great fun to fly, and even the upgrades are still very much hands on machines...... If one could only get the hands on with the loading of the cargo.....
