is the "display text" rc option checked? if so, uncheck it. are your voice sliders all the way to the left? pilots and controllers.anything else change on your machine? like giving fsx full priority, or some other "tweak" that usually has unintended consequences?jd

I see you have Active Sky Advanced.Any chance you have Global Mode on? That can cause some lag issues with RC4.By the way, Active Sky Evolution is available for free upgrade at the moment. That seems to run RC4 alright in Global Mode aside for some lagging after being handed over to approach and so on.

JD,I have done what you suggested. No joy.Tower is clearing me to land when aircraft is on runway... Some RC4 options take a long time to respond.A "slow" RC was never a problem until recently. Everything else in FSX runs fast.I may have done something to my computer, which is dedicated to FSX only, that I can't recall that has caused the RC slows.Any more suggestions?

Is Interact with AI enabled in the General setup for RC? It should be.Be sure you have the latest ASA service pack installed that resolves some issues.http://www2.hifisim.com/node/9according to what I've read.Try just FS and RC running to check if add-ons are slowing you down, then add ASA, and so forth.

obviously, something has changed. have you added scenery? have you run the rebuild rc scenery database? i ask, because rc won't let ai on the runway if you are on tower. but if rc doesn't know where your third party sceneries' runways or taxiways are, then i don't know that i should freeze them. check dowson's page, and make sure the latest makerwys.exe is in the root of the fsx directory before you click the rc rebuild scenery database button. also make sure you have the latest fsuipc installedif you have pre-recorded chatter checked, uncheck ittry to remember what you added, tweaked, upgraded, etc.jd

Yes, your are quite right!Scott Kalin identified the problem and how to solve it.I had intstalled Active Sky Advanced. This slowed RC4 down, but this eluded me.ASA now has a free upgrade, Active Sky Evolution. At Scott's suggestion I downloaded the upgrade...and, boy, my RC4 runs FAST!So, a big thanks to one and all!zach

Make sure you continue with that DWC unchecked in ASE. Unchecking it seems to solve a variety of problems in both RC and Active Sky also. I'm not sure it really does any good for anyone. I'm using ASE and RC together with no problems.
